Early Access Video: Make a Tool Tote from One Board

Friends:

There's STILL a back-hoe in my front yard, but the work goes on.

Today, I bring you the One Board Tool Tote. I planned this project very carefully and I'm quite pleased with the result, but I always let you be the judge.

There are plans for this project and they are FREE for Patrons. I'll have those for you on Wednesday morning.

In the meantime, go hug someone you love. (Then watch this video).

I'd say this is just the overall structure. Easy enough to add things as the need arises. I plan to.

I have a shinto rasp. I like it a lot. The only question is: do I recommend the shinto or a 4-in-hand that also has curved faces?

I'm currently watching your limited tool builds and can I recommend trying out a shinto rasp? They're pretty cheap and absolutely AMAZING at stock removal - they have both a coarse and fine side and I've built entire guitar bodies and necks with them.

Great job. Never would've thought about using pegs. Love the result. However, I would have liked one or two dividers to be able to organise your tools a bit. But that's personal taste I guess...

I do not expect it to because the wood for the ends and the bottom has the grain running in the same direction. As a result, they SHOULD expand and contract together making joint failure unlikely.

A little newbie question, I am wondering if wood movement would pose a problem with the glued in buttom?
