Early Access Video: Do you need a woodturning chuck?

Friends:

I'm always thinking about tools. Which ones do you need? Which ones can you do without? Which tools are just scams?

With this in mind, I decided to do an overview of the woodturning chuck. What's it good for? Do you need it?

This is part of my overall effort to promote the book, and I'll probably do some similar videos in the near future, but don't worry, I'll also do plenty of other content.

By the way, if you downloaded a free copy of the book, I could REALLY use some more reviews on Amazon. Reviews mean sales; it's that simple. So a sentence or two is all it takes to really give my latest project a boost. No need to give five start. Be honest.

Hope everyone has a great holiday!

So, since you mention machine lathes... I have a friend who does all his turning, wood AND metal on his machine lathe, and I've been trying to figure out why I never thought of or heard of that. While he does turn wood freehand with a footrest that fits into his lathes toolholder, most of the time he just uses the regular feeds... It seems genius to me. I suppose the issue is cost.
