Early Access Video: Import Tool Madness 3

Friends:

If there's one thing everyone can agree on, it's that they want me to find cheap tools and review them. So, here's my review of an insane and hilarious plastic hand plane.

It was a fun video to make and I hope you like it.

Also, I'd be happy to take suggestions for tools you'd like me to review. Feel free to leave your ideas in the comments below or send me a message. I generally shoot for things below $10, but I can sometimes go higher.

Hope everyone is having a good week!

Yeah, it's crazy. I'm going to be able to keep this series going for a looooonng time.

Loved this one. It's amazing the stuff you can find at online flea markets like Aliexpress

I'm not sure that's such a hot idea (creative, though). Instead, you could use this narrow iron for a block plane, chamfer plane, chisel plane, or scrub. Lot's of possibilities.

Oh lord... and so, my mind just threw me a picture of a plane, five inches wide, with three of these blades in it, slightly staggered and slightly overlapping in their cut patterns, but you end up with a five-inch wide cut. I --MIGHT-- be able to make it work for rough planing stock. Sure I could. Yeah.

Hey, super skinny but < $4 plane blade. Cool, and make a decent plane for it for chamfers & etc. And if you didn't have a router.... you could grind it into a profile to do a moulding... :-/ well, no, probably not.

James Boatright

Well...I bought one. So, there's one sucker. But seriously, this is a real mystery.

Rex Krueger

I do wonder what prompted someone to design and manufacture this plastic plane. How many could they sell, and to whom?
