Early Access Video: $2 Wood Rasp

Good Morning!

So, I just posted a video a few days ago, but I've already got another for you. This is the first in my new series: "Import Tool Madness!" I'm reviewing crazy-cheap tools imported from overseas.

And when I say cheap, I mean it. The rasp featured in this video is $2 with FREE SHIPPING. I've paid more than that for shoelaces.

And here's the really amazing thing: the rasp is actually pretty good. I plan on doing a bunch more of these videos, so give me feedback. Do you like this format? Is there any really cheap tool out there that I should look at?

My patrons have always been my greatest source of tips and ideas, so tell me what you think!

In no particular order, some of my favorite China orders under $5 have been: Hook and pick sets, Temperature/Humidity readout (must have for the shop!!), small acrylic bubble levels, USB light bars (for working outdoors/additional lighting), Hakko flush cutters. Might not be worthy of review, but just sharing some of my cheap favorites. Honorary shoutout to DuPont Teflon dry spray (in the black and white cans on Amazon) for super-convenient lubrication of cast iron surfaces, bandsaw components, and other places where you want slick parts but oils and lubricants would ruin pieces and attract dust. Worth the cost for convenience, I go through a can every 9-12 months.

If you have any favorites, especially hand tools, send me links and I might review them. As to router bits, I've always had the best luck with Skill brand bits. Pretty cheap, but good enough, especially for specialty bits that might not see a lot of use. Thanks a lot for your thoughts!

Love the idea, I have a slew of import tools that are 1/5th the cost or less of what I can find in US stores. Thoughts on router bits? Had the first of my Amazon Special bits shoot the bearing off the top. Not sure if it's worth spending the money on specific high-use ones, or keep going the budget route. Thanks!

Oh, that sounds bad. What do you mean by links? The video itself or links in the description? I haven't added the tool links yet. I'll do that later today.
