Veronique dated Jay for over a year. During the entire time that they were together, Jay would fly into a jealous rage if Veronique so much as looked at another girl, and she had a mean streak a mile wide. Veronique finally got tired of dealing with Jay's jealousy and dumped her. Running into her ex while out on a date with Charlotte was not exactly part of her plan for the evening.
"Is thish the bitch who shtole you from me?" Jay slurred as she swayed slightly on her feet. Apparently she was a little drunk.
Charlotte correctly deduced that Jay and Veronique used to be an item. She opted to remain silent, leaving Veronique to deal with the interloper. She was surprised when Veronique slipped an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close.
"Yeah, Charlotte is my new girlfriend, Jay," Veronique affirmed. "Unlike you, she's sweet and understanding."
Charlotte was taken aback. This was her first date with Veronique, and even though she really liked the enigmatic brunette, calling Charlotte her girlfriend seemed premature. Still, she didn't think it would be a good idea to contradict her date in front of Jay.
The redhead smirked. "Yeah, right... we both know you like girlsh who have a... hard edge... Ronnie..." Jay's expression turned coy. "Nobody elsh can love you like I do, Ronnie... nobody elsh can give you what you need..."
Charlotte could have sworn that she felt a shudder run through Veronique's body.
"We'll see about that," Veronique replied, hugging Charlotte tightly against her.
Jay raised an eyebrow. "Oh... you think sshe can fulfill your needsh? Well... then let'sh take her to Club Circe and put that to the tesht... or jusht dump her, and take me to Club Circe..."
Charlotte blinked in surprise. She'd heard about Club Circe. It was some sort of fetish night club where people went to indulge in all sorts of strange kinks. She had no idea what Jay meant by 'putting her to the test' but it sounded like some sort of challenge. She glanced over at Veronique and saw that her date was pensively biting her lower lip, as if she was seriously considering Jay's suggestion.
