I love your reviews! Always spot on! As for TS's mind reading skill, he started practising his purple demon eye (a Tang Sect's skill) since he was young and he has now reached the boundless realm. With this skill alone, he can see through all deceptions (which is a bit like mind reading). But during the tidal training trial, he integrated his now purple god eye with his wisdom skull bone and together they broke through the human limit. Yes, he's in a way, becoming more like the Sea God. His spirit/mental power enables him to perceive everything in his surrounding, nothing escapes his "heart eyes". That explains how he could read the thoughts of the Sea Lance Douluo and then use his intelligence to counter his attacks. On top of that he could suppress the thoughts and actions of all those who are weaker than him. One example is when he literally penetrated Fatty's mind to expand his phoenix domain during the whale shark battle.
