Let’s dive in!
10. Rogers Launches Starlink Direct-to-Cell in Canada:

9. Elon’s Philosophy: "It is better to be a private than a public company":
Elon described AI as a "neurotransmitter tonnage maximizer," emphasizing long-term optimization for humanity’s future. The key aspect of this post was Elon emphasizing "it is better to be a private than a public company."
"AI is a de facto neurotransmitter tonnage maximizer. Any AI that fails at this will not be able to afford its compute, becoming swiftly irrelevant.
What matters is that AI thinks long-term, optimizing for the future light cone of neurotransmitter tonnage, rather than just the next few years. If so, it will care about increasing the birth rate and extending humanity to the stars.
For long-term optimization, it is better to be a private than a public company, as the latter is punished for long-term optimization beyond the reward cycle of stock portfolio managers."
8. xAI’s Colossus Water Recycling Plant:
xAI (@xai) began groundwork for an $80 million water recycling plant in Memphis to support the Colossus 1 supercomputer (@xAIMemphis). It will be the world’s largest ceramic membrane bioreactor (MBR) and will sustainably supply 13 million gallons per day of cooling water to the supercomputer and neighboring industrial plants in Memphis, Tennessee. The plant will use direct-piped effluent from the nearby Memphis’ T.E. Maxson municipal wastewater treatment plant to produce high-quality cooling tower makeup water, enabling the supercomputer to operate with zero impact on areas potable water supplies.
Per xAI's Andree Jacobson (@nmswede), "That's right! We take errmm... less than clean water, clean it, then use it to keep Grok cool-headed! Not a new concept by the way - but a great way for datacenters needing water to not use precious natural resources."
7. SpaceX Launches Amazon’s Project Kuiper Satellites:
SpaceX (@SpaceX) executed the first of three contracted launches for Amazon’s (@Amazon) Project Kuiper constellation on July 16. This was SpaceX's 90th total launch so far for 2025. The Falcon 9 Project Kuiper #1 (@ProjectKuiper) took off from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida. This was the first flight for first stage booster B1096. The booster landed on a drone ship A Shortfall of Gravitas in the Atlantic Ocean. All Kuiper satellites were successfully deployed.

__________
Ever wonder how Grok turns the chaos into my Top 10 list from the ELON CHRON articles? Grok switches to expert mode and deep dives the articles to extract key events across Tesla, SpaceX, xAI, and more. Then, it digs into X with semantic and keyword searches tools, and grabs real-time engagement data—views, likes, reposts—from around the platform. It then synthesizes trends with tables, citations, and reasoning. Pretty cool!
My biggest issues so far with how I use Grok is that it can not access my Articles or Lists. This needs to be a toggle feature for those who want Grok to access such things. I have created an amazing ecosystem on X and Grok having the ability to dig, discover, and analyze content and news from curated sources I have grouped together would be such a time saver. @elonmusk, lets make that happen.
Last, but not least...
I am doing everything I can to make the news easily available to everyone interested in these amazing companies, and I need your support to do it. If you enjoy my content and find the articles useful, please subscribe. It is the only way to grow the account and bring you news packaged in the ELON CHRON. This also includes first hand, on site news, I would love to attend. It is only $4/mo. When you average that out, it is lest the .18¢/article!
Thanks everyone!
