Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) Full Length Reaction

Hasta la vista baby!

WOWWWW!! Wow wow wow! What an awesome movie! 💯😆 Didn't know Arnie was the good guy and it was such a cool twist! Loved his bond with John and the end broke my heart 💔 Sarah Connor really did kick some ass! 💪

I loved the first Terminator and I do think they are both awesome to watch back to back but this one definitely does stand out! James Cameron sure knows how to rock a sequel!

The meaning of a thumbs up is now forever changed 👍💔

Note: This is the Theatrical Cut!

Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) Full Length Reaction

Comments

I though the theatrical cut is 2 hours 33 minutes

Michael Tuffin

Also, I have to say that you missed a lot watching the Theatrical Version. They cut out too much stuff. In this version he had no way of knowing the first "Sarah" was the fake one. It just feels incomplete.

People love to hate on the rest of the movies (Mostly because people love to hate on anything) but I really liked 3 a lot. It may be my favorite of the series. The rest of them after that were still enjoyable to watch, while I wouldn't rank them among the best movies, each one has it's charms and I was never tempted to stop watching or skip one of them.

At some point, for your own entertainment, you really should watch the extended version. For as long as I live, I will never understand why they cut the scenes that they did. There must have been other, less important scenes that could've been cut for time. It shows John turning on the 'learning' part of the learning chip. And how the T-1000 was actually somewhat injured by the liquid nitrogen, leading to important parts... Ugh. Plus there's a cameo by Kyle Reese!

TGrimace

I wish more people watched the third one. It's undeniably a step down from T2, but I think it's definitely worth the watch.

Zachary Carter

I concur about T3, i think that film is necessary to finish John's story. To me after that nothing matters, we just need to know he fulfills his destiny.

I agree -- T3 deserves some love.

David Martin

I may do it at some point in future!

Jen M

I've never seen those movies, but if they are slashers like this villain that's scaryyyy!

Jen M

I really enjoyed your reaction to the Terminator movies. 😁👌 Do you plan on doing “Terminator 3 Rise of the Machines”? It was unfairly judged because people kept comparing it to “T2”. But by itself, it’s a really great action movie that furthers the story; and it got decent reviews. After that, “Terminator Salvation” takes things into the future with an adult John Conner. Not great reviews but it would be interesting to see your take on it. After that… Well… the Terminator movies start to go downhill as obvious money-grabs.

Yeah, I was gonna say, you need to watch the special edition now

I love this movie. I listened to it as an audio book cause I know the movie too well, I don't need to see it to know what you are seeing. Never gets old. As for the sequels, I agree with most people, they are so so. Also ... some say Dark Fate is good but I personally dislike it very much. I will just say that I think it wasn't needed at all. Can't say much more without spoiling it so if you decide to watch one more, maybe Dark Fate. Ill watch the video cause Im always happy to watch your reactions, but Ill tell why I am not a fan of it in the comments ... lol. The bad terminator in this reminds me of the villains in slashers movies like Jason, Michael Myers and the likes. They never die, they keep moving forward with their singular mindset.

This is the original Theatrical cut.

David Lengyel

Thanks David! ... Do you know which version this is?

Jen M

Lol!! 🤣

My favorite reactor comment ever: "He was a good robot." hahaha

Finally a perfect sync reaction. I was losing hope already 😅 I'm glad you've reacted to this sequel and allowed me to experience it as it was supposed to be experienced, because back in the 1992 the whole advertising stood on the twist. What a lame decision! I think you might want to check Dark Fate as it marks Iron Jim's return to the franchise and it's pretty cool flick. In any case, I'm happy that you've enjoyed this one and you've blessed us with another little cosplay 🤙🏼 One small request at the end: consider the version/edition announcement in the description, that would help to pick the correct one. For instance, I own a blu-ray copy of this movie, which offers three different cuts, so I was not sure if I'm watching the correct one until 20 minutes in. I'd really appreciate that 🙏🏼

Oh goodness I loved it so much! I can only imagine how amazing it would've been in 1991 🤯 Linda was really great in this for sure and the kid was great too and gave so much humor and heart to the story. Realizing Arnie was good was so cool, I'm soooo glad I didn't know!! 😆

Jen M

It's kind of a Vader situation - if I told you at the end of the first Terminator that you'd probably be tearing up over him dying in the second one, I don't think you'd have believed me :D Like I said in the Terminator reaction, I bet it makes Jim Cameron really happy to know there's people out there watching T2 and not having the "twist" spoiled. Was a lot of fun watching you realise that Arnie IS the good guy this time round :) This movie is widely considered the best action movie ever made. An incredible mix of heart, acting (particularly from Linda Hamilton again), stunts and early (but still to this day jaw-dropping) CGI. You can imagine my reaction when I first saw this movie as a boy in the 90s - basically the same as yours when the T1000 walked out of the burning truck wreckage, we'd never seen effects that good before, it was light-years ahead of anything else at the time (save for something like Jurassic Park). Glad you loved it - and this tank-top, pony-tail, baseball cap look, we got to bring that back :D

crawlie

Oh great fun fact!!! I like that!

Jen M

Ya for sure, I think I'll stop here because I loved it so much!!

Jen M

Fun facts: The scenes where the T-1000 duplicated the mental ward security guard and Sarah Connor in the metal factory, they didn't use some fancy editing of the same actor to show them in the same scene. Nope, those actors had real twin siblings James Cameron hired to appear in those scenes with them. (edited comment for errors)

Todd Preble

👍🏻🔥 Lookin propa bad ass for this one! This is one of the greatest of it's kind. A slightly different film than the first rather than 'better' per se. I more prefer it, than think it's an improvement over the sci-fi horror thriller; that the original is. While Judgement day is a straight up action film classic. It just delivers us more. With the drama, comedy, pathos and expanded existentialism. You won't get any of that from any of the follow ups. I have to say I did enjoy Dark Fate for what it is. I coin that one as a brain in a jar kind of movie. All one has to do is no more than sit and absorb what's delivered up. As if it were possible to remove your brain and place it in a jar next to you. A gratuitous cash grab, that's existence is mere course correction / eradication of the ill-conceived post T2 predecessors. From a generation of films for that 10 second attention span generation. Where the ubiquitous use of CGI takes more precedence than perhaps it should. Yeah I'd leave this journey where it is now.

Daryl

Fair enough! I definitely loved these two! 👍👍

Jen M

This was great! Never need an excuse to watch T2 from start to finish (as I'm sure you now understand) - my honest opinion would be to stop at this and not watch any of the others. It's a tough act to follow under any circumstances, but it's all downhill in terms of the quality and storytelling IMHO after this one, and each film lessens the experience that you get out of the first two
