Spell: Animorph
Added 2023-08-11 02:07:28 +0000 UTCThis 1st level spell lets you transform into an animal, much like a druid does with Wild Shape.
There are limits to this though: It's only a CR 0 or 1/8 animal from from a specific list, it requires concentration, and, once you pick your animal form, it's always that same animal form every time you cast the spell.
This was inspired by Harry and Ron's first introduction to Professor McGonagall in the first Harry Potter movie, when she appeared as a cat before returning to her normal form. Same with Sirius Black and his dog form. Always the same animal form.
I came up with the name by combining "animal form" with "polymorph", only remembering when I started uploading the file a few minutes ago that there's a series of books (which I've never read any of) with the same title. So there's a second, unintentional, pop culture reference for you.
While I don't assign spells to class lists, I could see this working out thematically for druids, sorcerers, warlocks, and wizards.
