Monster: Jangboko
Added 2023-03-17 19:30:14 +0000 UTCI wanted a creature that could take the place of WotC's mind flayer in my materials and possibly even in my campaigns (partly because that creature isn't part of the SRD).
The jangboko (eater of brains) is a more monstrous version that is not a humanoid shape with an octopus head. Instead, it much more octopus or squid inspired, larger, is amphibious, and can float through the air and squeeze through small spaces to get to you.
There is a much older, much more dangerous version of this creature to watch out for as well.
