Spell: Kiss of Lysis

Bestow the gift of luck on a creature with a benevolent kiss.

This spell originated many years ago when I was running my games in 3rd edition. At the time it was a 5th level spell exclusive to clerics of the goddess of luck in my world, but gave bonuses to every d20 roll for a very long time.

I made this version about a year and a half ago to bring things more in line with 5e, but found that I'd forgotten to upload it. It affects only a single roll of the target's choice. I borrowed language similar to the Lucky feat...but this spell purposefully doesn't work on those that are already blessed with exceptional luck.

I've decided to keep the name of this spell as it was, even though it references a being in my own homebrew world. It's not unheard of for D&D spells (such as armor of agathys and arms of hadar). I personally still limit it to clerics of the goddess of luck, but DMs are free give it to whoever they wish (it's why I don't pre-assign my homebrew spells to class lists).

The material component has a couple of game origins. The star side of a silver coin in my game is the holy symbol of the goddess of luck (flip a coin, right?), and since this spell affects a roll of a 20-sided die...20 coins.

Yes, this one has some similarities to a spell from Critical Role. Such is coincidence and the passage of time.
