Snapshot Sunday - March 26

Hey there Patrons! 

Another weekend, another update, so let's jump right in! Probably to nobody's surprise, again this week saw the majority of time spent on Macro March stuff, with the big piece being the latest milestone pic for the drive. I had the composition in my mind the moment I saw the heights for each character. The sweet spot of them being both well above and just below most commercial airline cruising altitudes really lent itself to a "head in the clouds, but literally" kind of picture. Admittedly the first couple attempts I wasn't really happy with, but eventually the thumbnails and composition worked out well after a little finessing, and I'm really happy with how that picture came out. 

The next big ticket picture was actually the wardrobe selection piece, and while you can't tell here from the thumbnail (and possibly even from the full res version of the drive bonus pic), the actual drawing of Onyx there is a full 5K resolution picture, as are it's variants. I mentioned this in the actual image post for it, but I wound up spending a LOT of time (probably more than I should have) on that picture, but as I plan to use it for reference for Onyx once I finalize their markings, I'd say the extra time will probably be worth it in the long run. Similarly, that picture took a few attempts to get right, but I'm likewise very happy with the end results!

On smaller notes, we have the additional drawing of Onyx for the fundraising update, the initial sketch of the Raffle Promo for the growth drive, and then a kobold I doodled for fun as a really quick warmup. They found a cool rock!

To close out, there were a bunch of sketches of a very *very* old character of mine, who now goes by Rhea. Her original name was My'Rea and while I'm still hesitant to make that known for some reason (maybe it's the innate cringe of remembering the stuff I did back in the early 00's of DeviantArt), most if not all of the content from back then has been removed from the site either by myself or by dA's legacy content practices. I honestly can't be sure. Either way, she's Rhea in this incarnation, and the sketches of her with the bigger buffer and fluffier build are what I'm exploring for this latest iteration of her. I will at some point start up content with her original design (or a slightly updated version of it perhaps) that will be separate to the continuity of Onyx Pirate, but that's a story for another time!

That'll do it for this update though! I'm going to be jumping right back into art for Macro March and Commissions, so hopefully that'll mean more varied content to show for the next update!
