New Subscriber Benefit! Project "Legato" (Sneak Peek!)
Added 2025-07-27 17:13:04 +0000 UTCHi everyone! I'm happy to announce a brand new benefit that just dropped yesterday! Lydian tier subscribers now get access to Project "Legato". This is a Chord Progressions story that I am writing in traditional novel form. I'm hoping to someday get this published and printed as a real, physical book someday!
This story takes place in the Chord Progressions universe. It's set in 2009 and recounts the origin story of Dave and Chester's romantic relationship.
As I start work on this project, I'll be posting the draft of every chapter to Patreon as an exclusive perk for Lydian Tier subscribers only. Chapter 1 is already up and available if you'd like to upgrade your pledge today!
Without further ado, here's a sneak peak of the first page!
Today's the day. 26 years old, and I'm finally about to lose my virginity.
I reckon it's been about thirty minutes since I parked my car, idling in my spot and keeping cool from the hot July sun. I wanted to be early, eager to get this whole ordeal said and done with. I'm not the biggest fan of the choices that brought me here, but I'm taking charge for once, at least.
I'm a bit of a nervous wreck. I've probably flipped my mirror down five times since I got here, checking my fur, fussing with my long dreads, making sure they're sitting neat and tied up nice. Skunk fur doesn't behave all that well in the humidity.
After fussing with my fur, I pull and tug at the collar of my polo shirt, ensuring it's crisp and tidy. I reckon it won't matter much once it's on the floor, but I'd like to look as spiffy as I can.
In between my little grooming sessions, I'm flipping my phone open and closed, over and over again, making sure I'm not missing any texts. The ringer's on, and I ain't deaf. I'll hear him once he texts me. But the anxiety's racking my brain. What if today's going to be the one time this phone doesn't chime because of some dumb computer glitch?
I debate on whether I want to pull the vanity mirror down for a sixth time, but before I decide, I hear my phone's text tone. My heart races as I flip it open and check the screen. It's Cobalt. He texted me, "Hey! Sorry for the wait. Ring the Unit 1 bell, I'll let you inside. First floor."
This is it. It's really happening, isn't it? I couldn't help but to start huffing and puffing as a million thoughts start racing through my mind.
I'm trying my damndest to text him back, but my paws are shaking like a leaf. Everything I've known about texting just flies out my brain as I frantically search for the buttons.
Breathe, Dave. It's just a text. Just use your dang thumbs to push the right buttons. How hard can it be?
