Hey Chordies!

Just updating you on some stuff going on :3.

First off, Staccato 7 is still underway! I've laid down a lot of the coding foundation in RenPy, and now we're working on getting some art for this one :3. Jim's working on a spicy piece for y'all! I also have Drake hard at work on new sprite assets. Aiming to have this up and ready for Dorians and Lydians by the end of the month if all goes well.

I won't lie, there's a lot of friction I'm experiencing with writing Episode 8. Just haven't been able to find a whole lot of inspiration to get past a slow, transitional scene. I'll be able to work past it soon! Don't worry. I've dealt with this a few times. I take it 100-200 words at a time, and then eventually I break through and the next 10k words write themselves 😌.

However, I'm announcing something new and exciting today! While I haven't been feeling incredibly inspired to write Episode 8, I've been able to channel inspiration elsewhere. I'm working on a book! This will be a Chord Progressions story written in traditional novel form. Right now the working title for this project is "Legato".

As of now, Legato is in its early stages. I've written up most of chapter 1 (looking to be ~5k words) and am looking to brush it up, and get it sent over to the editors for review. Once reviewed, I'll be posting chapter 1 exclusively for Lydian tier subscribers to read.

This book will be a stand-alone story featuring Chester and Dave, taking place in 2009. The story is told from Dave's perspective and will showcase his and Chester's romance origin story.

The Staccato stories have been a great avenue to recount the adventures of Darrell, Trent, Pat, and Cliff. However, I feel like I haven't been giving Dave any love. What better way than to make him the protagonist of his own book! It's what he deserves 🦨💜.
