FAFO - Bowser Puma & Rhythm Bastard (Shownight Showcase)
Added 2024-02-21 02:13:02 +0000 UTCHey y'all, here's the last song from the show night line up! This is FAFO, performed by Karcenogen (Darrell, April, Vin, and Pat's band).
This is the first Chord Progressions track that has my musical signature on it :3. I composed the main hook, most of the guitar parts (including the solo!), all of the bass parts, much of the drum parts, a good chunk of the lyrics, and Rhythm Bastard filled in the gaps :3. He mixed and mastered the track as well.
On top of that, he was kind of enough to lend his voice to the song! If you don't know, Rhythm Bastard is also Darrell's voice actor. I'm so happy you all get to hear Darrell sing :3.
This song is a really big moment for me. I've been playing guitar for almost 20 years and I've written so many bits and pieces of songs. However, I've never taken the time to put together a full track. I came up with the main motifs of this song over two years ago. I posted a little sketch of it on Twitter back when I was in the early design phase of the VN. The idea for this song has existed for as long as Chord Progressions.
I'm really proud of what we came up with. A lot of people I've shown this to don't seem incredibly impressed, but I adore what Rhythm Bastard and I created. It took a huge amount of work and I had to grow so much as a musician to make it happen. I'm so proud of this track and I'm so happy I get to finally put my name among the musician credits for the game!
On top of that, I borrowed the name "Karcenogen" from my late friend who I've made ChoPro in honor of. Karcenogen was the name of his fursona from about 10 years ago before he switched to being a border collie. This song would be right up his alley. I think he'd really enjoy it, too.
I'd like to add more of my own original songs to ChoPro, but it's tough since making music is REALLY hard and takes so much time. I may be taking a back seat and letting Martini, Axel, and Gator Tots take the helm u.u
Enough rambling. Hope y'all like this one, too!
