His reaction on Day three when Eddy says "it's a me problem" is also extremely well written. A poly route with him and Chester is the only way I see it working (unless the two break up, which would be problematic), but Chester is "eh" to me. Darrell, Trent, and Pat are tied for 2nd place for me; because they are all very interesting characters in their own right. Trent's 'tism seems very realistic and endearing, and I love hearing Darrell gush over his niece. Pat's route could be the one that sees the most growth for Eddy, given Pat's confidence. They could possibly grow together, which would be a sweet arc. I'm excited to see what you come up with!
