Gold Standard Plotter - HP 7475A
Added 2023-09-23 02:47:31 +0000 UTCHello again! This one took a bit more at the end than I expected to get done but here it is, a video on the HP 7475A I got a while back in the big HP lot! This was a while in the making to get it repaired, twice, and figure out some ways to really show it off the best I can. This is one of those things that you really either have a need or dont, so synthesizing demos takes some work.
But the tone of this video really changed when I decided to take an extra day to do some research and it completely changed my perspective on this thing. I knew it was good after getting it working, but I got a better sense of how this thing completely dominated the plotter market after it came out. So that changed how I was planning this video but it was really nice to get a more complete picture of it and it answered some questions I've been having about why these weird old plotters seemed so well supported even now.
