Phonodroid 3.0 Beta Release 4 (4-29-2023)

HOW TO INSTALL

- No more 2 zip files! (for now)

- Download the 7z file and save it somewhere convenient.

- Using 7zip (or another zip manager that supports 7z files), extract the archive file.

- Create a new avatar project in VRChat Creator Companion and open it (VRChat SDK will be installed automatically when doing it this way)

- Drag the Phonodroid 3.0 Unitypackage file into unity editor to install it

- Open scenes folder, double click "Phonodroid"

(Note, you may encounter blueprint errors building the avatar. If you do, select the avatar in the hierarchy and in the inspector find "pipeline manager". Click the detach button. It should build without issue now!)

Updates:

- Updated glass texture to look more interesting.

- Modified the specular mask values to look a bit more natural.

- THE BIG ONE: The main material PSD file has been massively optimized and organized. Its actually somewhat readable now. This also means the file size of the whole package has been considerably reduced.

- Head geometry has been edited to allow for transparency across the whole shell texture, no more having to make the head area opaque. (Still a little more modification needed to make it more visually interesting with a transparent head.)

- Modified mouth geometry and shape keys. Phonodroids can bite you now.

- Eyes have a new texture layout to allow for more detailed texturing. (Currently only has 1 eye texture mirrored across both, we'll update it later to allow for heterochromia.)

Current Known Issues:

- No support for in-game color shifting yet (still need to make hue mask and do the animation setup for it)

- Using the dance emote causes the hand colliders to activate the button trigger causing the door to open and close repeatedly (Still happens but can be prevented now with the Tray Lock feature)

- Potential UV adjustments needed on the arms after the modeling changes

- Minor visual error on the rear of the legs.

- Minor visual error on the sides of the mouth with certain shape keys

Coming Up Next:

- Potential Changes to the animation and gesture system

- Continued Fixing the issues above

- More visual polish as usual, specifically with the internal skeleton around the arms

- Possible design changes to the legs to bring them more in line with the arms
