Phonodroid 3.0 Beta Release 3 (3-16-2023)

New Arms Edition

See the general beta info post for more information here

HOW TO INSTALL

- Download both 7z files and make sure they are in the same folder

- Using 7zip (or another zip manager that supports 7z files), only extract archive 001. Archive 002 will automatically be extracted with it.

- Create a new avatar project in VRChat Creator Companion and open it (VRChat SDK will be installed automatically when doing it this way)

- Drag the Phonodroid 3.0 Unitypackage file into unity editor to install it

- Open scenes folder, double click "Phonodroid"

(Note, you may encounter blueprint errors building the avatar. If you do, select the avatar in the hierarchy and in the inspector find "pipeline manager". Click the detach button. It should build without issue now!)

Updates:

- Modified the arm modeling so it looks more natural and reduces clipping between sections

- Reduced size of chest contact point to help with accidental contact. (Was unable to test this one due to not having access to VR for the time being, so feedback is very much appreciated)

- Updates to the animator files for the following things:

> Added a "Tray lock" feature that prevents accidental presses (Affects the wheel toggle too so it will have to be disabled for the tray to be toggleable at all, I have an idea for how to lock the contact interaction specifically but wanted to get this update out first. Ill experiment with it for the next one.)

> Added "Reset tray" feature in the wheel menu that quickly resets the tray animation if it desyncs without requiring a reset of the avatar as a whole.

- Added secondary joints to the arms for more natural elbow motion, as well as finally supporting the ones already in the feet. Both work in game.

- Fixed weight painting error on the turntable arm

Current Known Issues:

- No support for in-game color shifting yet (still need to make hue mask and do the animation setup for it)

- Using the dance emote causes the hand colliders to activate the button trigger causing the door to open and close repeatedly (Still happens but can be prevented now with the Tray Lock feature)

- Potential UV adjustments needed on the arms after the modeling changes

Coming Up Next:

- Continued Fixing the issues above

- More visual polish as usual, specifically with the internal skeleton around the arms

- Possible design changes to the legs to bring them more in line with the arms

Will try to keep things updated pretty frequently. If you have any questions, bug reports, or suggestions let me know!
