Probably no video this week while working on longer term projects
Added 2022-05-25 17:00:44 +0000 UTCHello, I wanted to give you a heads up that it's looking like I probably won't be able to get a video done this week. I've got a thing this weekend I need to prepare for and so far this week I've put most of my time into this project: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/169I3v8Z0MSMUkzjK8socbPL-gb5KFct5aQrW1HMJprE/preview a cataloging of all the documentation I got with with the S-100 computers so I know which ones are the most critical to get scanned. This all took a lot more time than I was anticipating but I feel like it was worth it because it was a good glimpse into the research I'm going to be doing on these devices. Another part of doing that checking is that now I know I don't have a lot of actual bound books to scan so I can get away with a document feed scanner for most of this. I'm waiting on delivery one of those that has been sent by an awesome supporter because I want to take a new approach with filming these computers where every time they are show I am able to check in with actual progress being made as I talk about how I am working on them. So I want to get some of these documents scanned before I make the video on it.
Next as you likely saw in the supporter update video I'm making tremendous progress on reforming capacitors now. I plan on doing a video about that but I want to get a little further in my initial testing so I can show the process being done on caps that need it much more. I checked the 100,000uF caps in the CompuPro and they are actually $30-40 each on parts sites so I want to use those as an example. I just want to make sure I have the process down before trying something critical like that. So progress is happening, just not quite as quickly as I would have liked. But I feel that there is some good stuff going on right now that is going to pay off soon so I am looking forward to that.
