Sorry this one is a week late. I've still been putting a lot of time into the Coleco Adam PSU project. But I also realized my last few videos hadn't been that great and decided I wanted to really step it up for my next one.

So this is the first normal video I've ever done where I wrote a script then shot the video.  It ended up being much denser than my videos typically are. I'm really curious to hear what everyone thinks about this format.

I also have a few general thoughts about the channel

I've been realizing I have been stressing myself out worrying about getting the next video out. I don't normally get stressed out about anything. I've tried to reflect on why and I think I need to introduce a little more variety back into the channel. I feel like I've been stuck in a rut of computer repairs. Vintage computers are definitely my favorite hobby, but it's been around six months since a typewriter or calculator video. The xbox video last week and this video are sort of a new topic for me as well. I've previously had a very firm, no games, concept for the channel because I wanted it to be more serious and focused on technical elements. But I'm now thinking this may be the wrong move and I'm arbitrarily reducing the number of topics that I can talk about. The channel is definitely not going to become a gaming channel, but I may from time to time talk about things related to it.

This video was nearly stress free to make with the traditional scripting method. I knew what I needed to record in order to fit the story I wanted to tell. It was freeing compared to how I normally shoot because I knew I was going to incorporate all of the elements I wanted. I think I need to come up with some video themes to use for this to help give future videos like this more structure. This would work very well for videos about more simple topics like typewriters and calculators where even the standout features aren't generally earth shattering. The only thing that I can't see fitting into this are the repair videos. Those are very hard to plan ahead on. I have one I'm going to try in a different way coming up in the next few weeks, I'm not sure what yet, but we'll see how it goes.

Speaking of upcoming things, the channel name. It's been a while since I've mentioned it, but I still plan on moving forward with renaming the channel to Tech Tangents. Since the last time I mentioned it I actually emailed Alec from Technology Connections to ask how he feels about the name with regards to any similarity to his channels name. He thought it was fine and gave me the free and clear to use it. As far as I know now, there are no reasons stopping me from switching at this point. My plan for this is to change the name in an update video after I finish the Coleco Adam PSU. That is a sponsored video and I want to talk about taking the sponsor deals in the same video. I would like to have all pending sponsor agreements fulfilled before I talk about it, for no particular reason, I just want to.

I think that's it for now, thank you everyone here for your support and understanding.

I'm torn between just swapping the EEPROM and seeing what happens and trying to debunk some things. I think I'm going to pull the back off of it and run it with a big fan blowing on it in the open air to rule out overheating. I should just go do that now so I can start testing it. I've been using it every day as a computer monitor for about 5-8hrs a day for about the last month so I've got a pretty good feel for it and I have noticed it getting worse. It blacks out for a few seconds every now and then. The cause of this is really only speculated at this point.

Tech Tangents

You briefly mention a preemptive repair on it. That sounds like a good idea for a short video some will find extremely useful over time.
