I had this video done 2 days ago but some rendering errors kept plaguing it over and over. Which was a bummer because I felt like I was about to get into a highly productive groove. I have the next two videos planned and am working on an outline for the next one right now. So I should get back on

But the rendering is finally all done and working now. I'll have to ignore some parts of editing software I'm using (Davinci Resolve's Fusion) because it seems to be the most GPU intense part of the program and almost always leads to problems. Between that and the fact that I got headless rendering working now I think I'm ready to tough it out until I'm ready to buy a new GPU for rendering.

I'm really happy with how the camera and editing came together in this video. It is noticeably better in my eyes. I discovered that I've been getting some lens glare from my lights. So after this shoot I put a hood on my camera. I'll be curious to see how that works out going forward.

(As of when I uploaded this it has only finished processing 1080p. I find 4k can take a while longer)

It has some problems (pinned comment has more info) but I need to move on to the next thing. This simple video already killed 5 days for me now.

Tech Tangents

I was already able to get it working in my Thinkpad 365XD as a means of transferring over drivers for other devices. It's a Win98 PC with only a CD drive and no USB ports. So I don't want to sneakernet data to it over write once CD-Rs all the time. That network card opened up a whole new world for it.

Tech Tangents

The floppies were nerdy peanut alternatives. Plus they are modern made store brand, so they weren't exactly good quality ones to start with, so nothing of value was lost. Those dongle-less ethernet PCMCIA cards were highly sought after back in the day. At my old job back then, we only had the type that took up two slots, the Xircom RealPort. That single slot one I had gotten from a friend and it had saved out butts on several occasions. I haven't needed it in over a decade, so hopefully it and everything else can be of some use again.
