I'm glad to hear someone else enjoyed it as well! I had replaced mine with a Pebble after the third one finally stopped holding a charge. I wish I had been able to keep at least one going from then.

I actually had one of these! I can remember back in high school it was great to mess with when I otherwise couldn't use my phone, but I do remember the UI being particularly restrictive. I honestly might have even played that 2048 clone. I don't suppose mine ever stopped working, but I eventually got an original Moto 360.

At 3:56 you can see the kapton covered end of the battery. There are only two wires that come out of it. If there is any circuitry on the battery then it is built in overcharge protection. But size is the main concern so they probably don't have that either.

This thread about direct powering an android device might be worth your time to skim over. It seems that when directing powering, their phones would start to boot up until there was a “battery check” and then they would shut off. <a href="https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863303" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1863303</a> Also, did the battery that you removed have its own circuitry that the Watch might be expecting?
