The 555 would count as an active component. But it is not programmable. I like that idea a lot, if this doesn't reduce the noise enough I'll look into doing something like that.

2018-07-20 21:56:37 +0000 UTCDo you plan to make the controller active or passive components? If it was active you could do extra integrations like bring the speed down automatically when your camera starts recording and then continue back to its full speed when the camera pauses or stops.
