Members Videos update!

i subbed for the first time a few days ago and just before i did i asked in the discord if exclusive videos were unlisted youtube ones because that's my preference. i ended up going with patreon over joining on youtube anyway though for the bigger cut. this all happened on the 24th lmao. so i'm pretty happy with this! i'm sure leaks won't be too much of an issue, and if it does happen then it's just the first free taste of crack to reel them in

Out of curiosity, do you have any metrics on how big an impact "link leaks" actually have? Like AndrewSource, my prior would be that it's not very large, but then it's an empirical question. Data would be interesting and helpful.

This might be my blissfully ignorant eyes but I don't think link leaks might be too much of an issue. Incentives to support financially on Patreon I think comes down to supporting creators not so much for the exclusives. Maybe it works differently on youtube where its more transactional like pay money and expect thing in return so having people get free something a member is paying for might suck if you're a member. But then again do we think the average hat films member would even care again we're all out here just to support.

Whatever works best for you guys. My preference is YouTube, but not if it hurts the creators. Thank you for the update it means a lot to us

Is uploading to patreon not an option? I sub to another patreon that does this because vimeo were being dicks to them, but unsure if you need a higher sub count for them to allow this

You could burn the videos onto DVDs and post them out 👍

Much happier to have them unlisted on YouTube. Much better experience for me. Far outweighs whatever perceived downside there might be from the links getting out. For me, maximizing the experience for the people supporting is far more important than thinking about how to subvert efforts from those who weren't going to support you anyway.

Looking forward to the Youtube videos, will make it easier to watch for sure. I do hope no one leaks it though.

I agree with the peeps here, happy with whatever you want to do as creators. I do like casting your vids to my TV so if that's a option on the platform that would be great x

Sounds like a good idea but wouldn't mind if the host has to move again if people sharing the unlisted video links becomes a problem

Thanks for the update. YouTube works better for me as i can cast them to my playstation and thus bigger screen. As i couldn't work out how to do that with vimeo. Hopefully no one spoils it for everyone.
