Added 2018-03-28 15:00:04 +0000 UTCAfter all that I looked in the manual and it does indeed state that the port is IRDA complaint. So I need to put some more effort into getting this to work. I'll probably need to connect the original drive to a computer and pull off all the original files to see if I can dig out the real IR driver for this thing.
I don't get why it didn't work with the generic IR settings though. Testing the IR port on either the printer or the laptop with another device would help to trouble shoot this.
Wireless printing from a 1994 laptop is too tempting of a concept to give up on. So this will return.
