Since it looks like other non-nintendo, USB-C webcams can work for the switch2, many people may have one that will work already. I imagine there’s lots of opportunity for people to spend quality time hanging out together in the open world of Switch2 Mario Kart. Just driving around and chatting, catching up with an old friend sounds nice. Particularly with Nintendo having such broad appeal.

I’m mostly just sad they’re not going to be innovative and out of the box with the design and vibe of the UI and OS in general.
That being said, I think part of it is just trauma from the Wii U situation. They have really solid hardware and a lot of excitement and they don’t wanna mess it up by making a console that looks goofy.

On point 3. Are we forgetting the POWER GLOVE how dare you argue that wasn't a 100% complete homerun industry paradigm shifting success.

I think the prices are actually interesting. In Australia, the console itself is actually pretty fairly priced (it's always been slightly higher here than everywhere else to buy consoles or games), and games were always more expensive (the new $120 AUD price point for the preorders at the moment though DOES hurt). It still is cheaper than the Steamdeck here though, which is often around $1k AUD. I'm curious to see the future of the console - I don't know if I'd get it immediately, but the price here in Australia isn't as unexpected or daunting, if that makes sense.

When I heard them announce that Mario Kart will be “open world” I immediately thought of you and all the fun (boring) areas you’ll discover.

Switch 2 felt like an incidental footnote to Deltarune Chapter 3 + 4 Announcement Day

I will gladly pay the $450 for the console if it can deliver on the technical aspects promised, but if every game will soon be 80 bucks that's going to add up quickly. $70 seems like a logical jump from $60, and like Jakey said (in which video I can't currently recall), the fact that game prices haven't increased despite the fact that graphical quality, dev team sizes, length of gameplay etc have all increased is a capitalist marvel. $80 just seems too close to $100 in my tiny consumer brain, but maybe there's good reason behind it 🤔

The Mario Kart stuff does seem cool. I don't plan to get a Switch 2 and will likely sell my Switch OLED because I'm just done giving them my money, but it'll be cool to see this play out.
