When Whitebeard met Shanks in Ep 316, Whitebeard said: "When I look at your face, it makes my scars ache. The scars I got from *him*" (him is Roger)

His devil fruit can create shock waves powerful enough to destroy the world with earthquakes and tsunamis. Most people consider it the strongest Paramecia Fruit. Back in episode 3, Axe-Hand Morgan first mentioned examples of rumored devil fruits including "breathing fire" and "creating tsunamis." This is anime-only (not manga) I think, but it's still crazy that Whitebeard and Ace are the most famous pirates and they teased that. But don't forget that he's ONE of the four emperors.
