All About Hua Li
Li Xiao Hua, or Hua Li as she's more better known, is typically shy and timid. Although somewhere deep down she has something of an adventurous streak, her desires mostly manifest as intense sexual fantasies. Hua owns an impressive collection of sex toys that she uses to satisfy her urges. When even those things won't do the trick, Hua might sneak out in the middle of the night wearing something tight and revealing, hoping some stranger will get a peak of her at her most vulnerable...

Hua's budding adventurous spirit has been stirred by recent events, culminating in her sharing her naked body for people to leer at online. Her persistent exhibitionism might in fact be due to her numerous body issues as she continues to seek sexual validation from strangers. In an attempt to stay petite and look good, Hua spends a lot of time looking at the mirror, jogging, and going to the gym, which she hates. Exacerbating the issue is Hua's love of food - especially the carb-heavy ones like rice and bread.  At home, Hua doesn't have much of a relationship with either of her parents, who are more fluent in Cantonese than they are in English, and she's teased mercilessly by her little sister, especially for her constant weight fluctuation.  Fortunately, her friend Emily is always nearby to support her and give her the sincere love and affection Hua desperately seeks.

While Hua continues to discover how deep her adventurous nature goes, she can't help but develop a fondness for Emily that extends beyond their friendship. But it's a fondness she doesn't fully understand, and isn't certain what to do with. She's fortunate to have such a loving understanding friend like Emily to go through this journey with her, as she continues discovering the breadth of her own eager sexuality.

All About Candy Apple
Candy Apple will always be an important story to me, and Hua Li will always be an important character to me, because this is the first x-rated comic that I created with the intent of sharing with others. This story is straightforward, and Hua is very simple, but even now, I still find her tale compelling. I think watching how far Hua is willing to go to get off, and watching how quickly things get away from her is so simple a plot, it's hard not to get excited with her.

It was always my intent to write a follow-up to Candy Apple detailing Hua's exhibitionist progress as a camgirl, and if I was in the habit then of writing longer stories as I am now, I likely would have included another act or two. As things are though, the community has definitely picked up and run with her character, developing her in a direction that I never could have anticipated, especially in her relationship with Emily, and I think Hua has become a more real, more robust character for it.

SPECIAL FEATURE - CANDY APPLE TRIVIA

- The Candy Apple in the series title 'Candy Apple' is an obvious reference to Hua's shapely butt.

- Hua Li was originally going to wear glasses, but I was never able to draw them on her face in a way that looked fitting to me.

- Hua's figure fluctuates more than any other character. Originally this was because I was unsure of how I wanted to continue depicting her as she developed. However nowadays her constant weight loss and weight gain have become an intentional depiction of her continued struggles with her body image. It basically means I can draw her really curvy and soft when I feel like it.

- Hua's design was the beginning of a continuing trend where I base a character's physical characteristics and stories on real life inspirations. The original inspiration for Hua in fact came from a girl at a bus stop who was dressed nearly identically with the same haircut and duffle bag either headed from or to the gym. She looked embarrassed to be so exposed, and my imagination ran away with me, giving birth to this story!
