For today and the next couple days, I'm uploading some little videos I made partly for myself: I'm trying to get familiarity with bits of gear that make up part of my modular synth rig. If you were interested in using this stuff but can't get notes out of the things, these videos are for you! For now I'm doing Tanzmaus, x0xb0x sequencer and Moog Mother32 sequencer, and again, my hope is that I can learn to jam on this stuff as freely as on a guitar.
I'll start with the MFB Tanzmaus, a little drum machine I picked because it can put forth a powerful 909-esque techno beat, and which also has the ability to replace its samples. I've made a sample set using Airwindows Not Just Another Dither to produce the (12?) bit samples it uses, if you like I can make that available. I'll probably want to make another video and record the direct out of the Tanzmaus if I make my sample set public, but it'll be free of course.
The Tanzmaus is a little daunting as it doesn't start up in a 'make loops' mode, but as long as you remember about holding buttons (such as the record button) and picking instruments, it can be conquered. I might try their Tanzbar at some point. Since I have to buy these things and don't get any of them from the manufacturer, it could be a while, but on the bright side it lets me only post stuff about things I select. Or in the case of the x0x3n, things I build :)
