Oddly enough, Miggi speaks Terran. She was born and raised on Earth, but her parents both immigrated and her father would speak about half and half. As for Jahla... either I'm going to have to revise something or say a wizard did it!

Given Miggi's mixing in Martian terms, and the reason for it, it seems like the Martian / Terrans aren't using a universal translator / babelfish. Zara probably learned the Terran language from monitoring the comms. But Jahla's been in hibernation, and while history suggests she might know Martian, she probably doesn't know Terran?
