Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 25 of Haikyu!! Wow guys, watching the fallout of everything actually really had me feeling for Seijoh! ESPECIALLY the extra footage from the movie, omg! Looks like Oikawa was good for that ramen after all! It's awesome for Karasuno to finally be on the winning side of that matchup, even if the tv coverage still didn't give them much credit lol. Now we're off to face scary guy and company!!! WOW!! That moment where Kageyama and Hinata get to show up right in front of him was SO good!!! What a season and what a finale! Good stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

I'll see what I can do about the ova! Thanks for explaining the last play! It is really interesting to see them in the same boat as Karasuno isn't it? Even if it is sad. I agree that they focus more on reality than just what's most fitting for the story here and I appreciate that, the coverage they got may not agree though haha. So true that it's mostly the biggest team that gets the most talked about!

2025-05-30 11:04:26 +0000 UTCI’ll go ahead and try to convince you just one more time, I do really think the OAD/OVA “VS Failing Marks” is better viewed as part of your Season 2 experience as opposed to Season 3, while everything that happened is still somewhat fresh. :) Okay, anyway, what we see in this batch is basically the fallout from the result of the match. You were asking about the last play: after Hinata spikes, the ball is touched by the Seijoh blocker and then Oikawa hits it, but the block has changed it so it spirals behind him and lands on the floor. So Hinata’s spike was actually touched twice before it fell. Ushijima chides Oikawa in this episode for choosing Seijoh over Shiratorizawa (this school name is gonna be a pain, get used to it! 😅) - but Oikawa is quick to point out that he has no regrets… he threw his lot in with his team just the same. He feels the same about his teammates as Yachi feels being a Karasuno manager. Everyone is invested in their team and connected, and they win together, lose together, practice, and help each other out. The story puts the audience in Karasuno’s corner, but I think the nice thing the bonus footage shows is that - this is something that happens on almost every team. Not just one team. Maybe Seijoh is heartbroken after losing - but it’s turnabout after they did the same thing to Karasuno in the first season. It also ended up being decided by the closest score possible. For every action, there is an equal and separate reaction. Ushiwaka’s chiding in the first episode of the season lit a fire under Hinata and Kageyama, and now they’ve grown out of the so called concrete. Have they grown enough? You’ll have to wait until next season. But as Oikawa points out, “if you spend all your time focusing on me, you might get hit where you’re least expecting.” So even though he lost, he can tell how much better his opponent is. I do get a little annoyed when I see the television/media focusing more on the team with higher ratings rather than the team that actually wins/deserves the attention. And when you broadcast “the team rightfully won,” that seems like it’s throwing egg in the face of their opponent. However… this is not unlike real life. Since it’s baseball season in the USA, and considering your location, how much more are you likely to overhear someone talking about the Yankees than another team? I’m used to this kind of treatment in my sports fandom, but it does make Karasuno that much more relatable. Anyway, that’s all I have on this season. I’ve said my piece, and am looking forward to the next reaction. (I have a feeling you also get nervous stomach tingling with Orb, but for far different reasons. XD)
