Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 23 of Haikyu!! Oh wow guys! So it turns out it was fairly easy to psyche out the Mad Dog! The thing is, we know how much that comradery means to any member of the team, so getting that kind of acceptance from his teammates is undoubtedly gonna help him double down even more! It was interesting getting his backstory, as well as him getting totally scolded, wow! Meanwhile the match is just way WAY too close for my comfort! Good stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

They really do capture that nail biting feeling so well! Yeah he really got a verbal spanking here lol but it was kinda necessary honestly. A team really is as close as a family in the best case scenario! HAHAHA Yachi and I are keeping Tums in business at this point :P I saw your message come in about the time stamps for the bonus footage - thank you! I'll try to go ahead and tack that on to the end of ep 25 :)

2025-05-21 11:51:02 +0000 UTCThe dynamic we are focusing on in this episode (all the while having a nail biter match) is, as the title suggests, the concept of team. Oh, by the way the nerve wracking part of being on pins and needles because the match is close? This is why sports sell so well. It’s not that different than anime in the terms of “I want/need to know how this is going to turn out, hopefully what I want happens!” Kyotani’s attitude has clearly put him at odds with the rest of Seijoh up until Yahaba(?) gave him a talking to after he threw a tantrum. If you recall earlier, when he first got into the match, he threw off Karasuno as well because he was so volatile. There’s definitely an intense rivalry between these two but there’s also a degree of respect, and when you see another player behaving in ways detrimental to the team, even if they’re on the opposing side, as a player or fan, there’s something about that spectacle that is just a little off putting. On the other side we have plenty of people who bicker, but none of it gets in the way of them working together towards the same outcome. In a way, your team is like a second family. Things are very similar in that there is a close bond between everyone involved, and everyone is looking out for each other (ideally), but the relationships are never static, and there’s times where you have to shoulder the load for another, or let someone else pick you up. But as they say, there’s no “I” in team. Even Oikawa noticed they were in sync, and it annoyed him because he understands that Seijoh is a little out of sorts at the moment and this isn’t the time for that. By the way, Yachi is having her own reaction series up in the stands right along with you. XD Need the Tums yet? I’ll send you the movie sequence information in DM for next week, but it would probably be best to watch it in the same video as Ep. 25, (it’s about another 5-10m of bonus footage that was added later).
