Haikyu!! 2x09 "Vs. 'Umbrella'" - reaction & review
Added 2025-04-02 15:28:05 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 9 of Haikyu!! Oh shoot, this one just highlighted what's going on with Hinata and Kageyama even more!!! I was worried at first that they're going to do their own thing separately, but who knew all this really boiled down to Kageyama's perspective of himself?! I think he has some good visualization going on and hopefully what each of them learned will really help them on the court! Good stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

LOL wishful thinking about summer I guess! I do notice the halfway animations but most of the time I'm just processing too many things at once to comment on them, I do love them though lol! LOL Yachi!! Yeah I don't think Yachi or I fully understood the dynamic at the time. Oh I didn't catch the stats, good call. The bbq meatballs sound delicious! I've always found food to be a big motivator!

2025-04-08 22:13:55 +0000 UTCI loved the practice between the top schools and Hinata Lev and Tsukishima. Kuroo telling Hinata that they’ll continue tomorrow meant a lot to him. Also it’s really sweet how much Kuro is helping them to make the match possible for his coach. Bokuto (owl guy) is really cool guy. I like that he took to Hinata well. If I had a guy as stand up as him, I probably would have stuck to some sport. 😅 Kageyama and Hinata have a complicated relationship. I guess they understand each other more than anyone else will. 🤷♂️

2025-04-04 11:24:50 +0000 UTCHey, it’s the first week of April. Spring anime season just started a couple days ago, don’t come in here with “it’s almost summer” yet! 😅 I should mention this while I’m thinking of it, but give a little more attention to the halfway cut animations - each time they tend to be different and they’re all pretty funny. :) Hey! Yachi is narrating! You aren’t supposed to hit the narrator in the face mid-opening monologue, watch it! Okay, seriously though, I do feel like she’s the character the audience probably relates to the most - she doesn’t have as many of the nuances down, she’s just reacting to what she sees (see what I did there?) The Hinata/Kageyama dynamic is a complicated one so when you got in a tizzy over their fight (along with Yachi, I might add) - I was thinking - this isn’t what it looks like. The two of them AREN’T fighting - rather they’ve just come to a impasse where they both are frustrated that they’ve hit a wall, and both of them understand to get better with each other, they both need to work on their OWN respective skill set, without the interference of the other’s expectations. Both of them expect the other’s best, but the blowup isn’t so much an attack as a vent of frustration energy. So in the meantime we have Kageyama working on the accuracy of his tosses, Hinata is learning from the other team’s better players - keep in mind, since they’re all Tokyo based teams, they won’t be competition for Karasuno immediately, they have their own prefecture qualifiers to get through. Looking at the statistics list on the notebook I don’t know if you caught it, but given the results at the end of this match, Karasuno was 3-62 for the week. They’ve only won three times, so they’ve been doing diving drills and uphill wind sprints forever, so that must’ve done SOMETHING, right? Funny you mention BBQ, I just finished soaking meatballs in barbecue sauce on top of white rice, so… apparently summer food motivates people? We’re almost this arc, but we still have a little bit of time left before we move on. Because you know, it’s a freaking barbecue. :P
