Haikyu!! 2x05 "Greed" - reaction & review
Added 2025-03-18 13:00:13 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 5 of Haikyu!! Wow guys, this one introduced kind of an interesting concept - that as one player grows and evolves, it affects the entire team! Especially in a situation like Hinata's, where we're just now starting to realize his true potential, and so is he. It's not that he wants to step on toes, but dang, he really just can't stop himself once he gets going! I wonder if he'll be able to master this impossible move! One thing's for sure - his conflict with Kageyama is rekindled in full!!! Good stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

Right, competition is kinda what it's all about! I think that is how I interpreted it, I just kinda expected them to bond over their similar personalities sooner. Omg puppy dog is kinda accurate though lol. But yeah, he sorta acted without thinking. Kageyama is kinda voicing what they're all thinking isn't he. That's true about Yachi, she knew who to go get! Can't wait to see more!!

I think they’re on the precipice of something that could seem to hinder or help them in the long haul. Really interesting stuff— when I first saw this I didn’t like our boys fighting but same time struggle goes hand in hand with evolution. Great reaction! :)

2025-03-19 11:04:13 +0000 UTCObviously the overlying theme in this episode is the competitiveness between guys, which is one of the appeals of sports in general. I don’t know if Lev’s initial taunt to Hinata is being interpreted correctly - he’s not saying it to him to be malicious but rather, “I think I can beat you, care to prove me wrong?” Hinata kind of went into autopilot on that one spike and ran into Asahi - I hate to use the term puppy dog but it’s a little too on the nose, he saw the ball and forgot everything else and nearly ended up causing someone to get seriously hurt. That’s part of what put the whole team on edge, but part of it is also their realization that their best as it stands at the moment, is not good enough. Of course Kageyama is the least likely to hold back when talking to Hinata but they’re all thinking the same thing. They all feel responsible for the previous loss, and yet growth is something that doesn’t happen immediately and can be frustrating, as you can see with Hinata’s extra practice session. In the meantime, Yachi over here is wondering, just what she got herself into. Don’t worry too much about it, we’re just an over dramatic gender and everyone’s probably a little bit worn out. XD (It does appear she’s in tune enough to the team dynamic that she knew WHO she needed to break up the fight though…) All the different teams are trying to develop and learn new skills and this is just the part that drives everyone up the wall, so will they keep trying to climb or will they reach an impasse? Stay tuned. :)
