Haikyu!! 2x03 "Townsperson B" - reaction & review
Added 2025-03-12 22:12:40 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 3 of Haikyu!! Oh wow guys, I LOVE Yachi!!! Not only is her dynamic with Hinata great, but I love that she got a chance to find herself more through this team, yet not by even actually playing volleyball. I'm also glad her and her mom worked things out, because that was bumming me out!! Really love where this is headed! Good stuff! Enjoy! ~ MH

Yachi is totally relatable and you called it with me getting attached to her haha. Gotcha, thanks for clarifying about their dynamic. Hahaha I didn't even notice that about the transition in scenes there :P Yeah it seems like this is good ship fodder! Oh got it, I knew Kiyoko was still a manager for now too but I must not have said it.

I really like what Kiyoko said about just having to need a little curiosity to start something. This advice would have made picking a major easier for me. 😅 But yeah I love the thing with Yachi and her mom. I think her mom was trying to get her for a hard world but comes across as a little brash in a sense which had Yachi feeling even more unsure. But I’m glad her mom sees she’s really committed to trying. She at least knows she at least is seeking to try on her own. Sweet episode. Loved it! Welcome to Karasuno Volleyball Club! 🏐

It’s not explicitly spelled out but the translation from her situation I got was that her mom is always off working and Yachi has to take care of the house - cleaning and meal preparation. She probably doesn’t have the opportunity to spend a whole lot of time with her mother during the week, between school and work. I took her attitude as maybe a little bit overbearing, but it’s done with the intent to inspire confidence in her daughter. But at some point Yachi needs to discover that for herself. Had to laugh when you pointed out the girls’ locker room scene and what it’d do to the boys when in the next scene Yachi freaked out when Tanaka pulled off his shirt in public. Get used to it. As for the shipping thing, there’s definitely a lot of reasons why it would make sense to pair those two - personality dynamics, energy, and they have similar height. Or they could just end up being good friends. It’s hard to tell since this isn’t based on, (as Yachi said in her head while being dragged by Hinata to the station, a shoujo manga). But who knows? XD Meanwhile, I think you totally missed her in the halftime interlude cut where she basically murdered Hinata with a volleyball by accident… One thing to clear up though - Kiyoko hired her to be a replacement because she’s going to be graduating. She has not left YET. So now there’s two girl managers on Karasuno, the senpai and the apprentice. PS: I kinda knew you were instinctively going to want to protect her, but first we gotta tell her what NOT to be scared of! Lol!
