Arcane 2x08 "Killing is a Cycle" - reaction & review
Added 2024-12-12 17:27:30 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 8 of Arcane! DANG you guys, things are really coming to a head aren't they?! Jinx has made her decision, Vi and Cait are back together, Mel is on Jayce's side (which surprised me), and shoot if this might not actually bring together at least some forces of both top and bottom worlds!!! Oh and you guys were right that this whole Viktor thing did NOT turn out to be positive....!! Next, we go to war I guess!!! One more to go! Great ep! Enjoy!! ~ MH

Oh cool note about Ekko! Yeah I totally forgot about how they miraculously survived the attack. I agree that she def really had some feelings for him at least! Gotcha, not all ships are for everyone. Yeah it's tough, because it's such a judgement call in the moment to make those decisions that Vi and Jinx have been making....it's not cut and dry. Oh that's too bad about Kino. LOL I was going back and forth between borg and Cybermen! LOL!!! What I wouldn't give for Daniel to show up!!!!!!!!!

2024-12-14 12:38:20 +0000 UTCI forgot to clarify this for you from episode 7, but when Ekko was standing on the bridge he was having a flashback to the same spot in the “real” world where he and Jinx had a duel in Season 1. A line has been crossed… you know what, actually, I don’t think anybody even noticed the line. Mel’s “awakening” led to some interesting revelations, perhaps the most important being the explanation of how she and Jayce survived the attack. Also, I mean… I’m no expert on the subject but the two of them were “together together” for a while, so I would think she’s got at least SOME positive feelings for the guy. (He kinda needs them at the moment, if you ask me.) I do t have too much of an opinion on the other ship, positive or negative. I am just personally thinking about what plot tie-ins it had, if any, and I’ll leave the analysis of it to people who are more interested in the topic. Vi and Jinx on the other hand have extremely interesting juxtaposition, as they both make the comment during this episode that they’re always making the wrong choices. Which, I mean, you can’t really blame them for… seems like everything turns upside down for them all the time. Vi is at least somewhat getting her act together, but Jinx seems pretty broken. (Also, her VA is showing a lot of range this week.) You asked about Kino, I think it is confirmed twice in this episode by both the Black Rose and Ambessa that he was killed as a bargaining chip for Mel. On the other side we have Viktor. I didn’t really put the Borg thing together until you said it but that’s not really a horrible comparison. The way he’s wiping minds and talking about the “Glorious Evolution,” that never really made me too comfortable. In fact I want you to picture him saying the following line: “all hail Xemug.” I think we’re done here. Or we will be, because this next episode is the SERIES finale. 👀
