Arcane 2x04 "Paint the Town Blue" - reaction & review

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 2 episode 4 of Arcane! WOW!!! First off, not that I don't love Officer Cutie, but you're really gonna replace Vi just like THAT, Cait?! Speaking of which, it seems maybe she's starting to have some second thoughts about the OBVIOUS bad stuff that Mom is propagating over here. And why is Jinx so freaking COOL?! Like legit, she accidentally sparked a revolt and just wanted to chill with her new baby sis lol. And wow you guys, to everyone who theorized the thing about Vander, go ahead and give yourselves a big pat on the back now!!! Great ep! Enjoy!! ~ MH

Thanks for clarifying about the smoke! That dialogue is heartbreaking! I miss my ship! Jinx has someone to look out for now, it does make a big difference. Yeah good point about the whole symbol thing. Ohhhh was that the same prison Vi was in?! Cool! Yeah I think we have our answer based on the context and the next few eps but it threw me off seeing Warwick in the subs lol. OMG Jinx is many things but boring is not one of them!

Right?! Omg I know, like what is it with Jinx being awesome this season?! VANDER!!!!

Melissa Moore

I know but it still made me sad lol!!! Technically though, it's not really as bad as the time jump makes it seem.

I did not see that opening scene coming. 😳 It’s so wild seeing Jinx being a pillar of hope for people. Man, I’m gaining respect for her and she’s not even trying to win them over. Vander! I can’t believe he’s back!!! 🥺

There were a couple of things I remembered about the previous episode after hitting post: The smoke coming up into Piltover tracks with the dialogue discussing that Jonx was seeming like she was trying to reroute the undercity’s vebtilation system. Basically, it’s like “here you breathe this gunk we’ve had to put up with for a change.” The flashback implies that Ambessa and Rictus setup the ambush at the memorial and then went and “cleaned up” the scene afterwards. Dialogue exchange in Season 1: Jinx: Are we still sisters? Vi: Nothing is ever going to change that. You obviously were going to get a soft spot for Isha - as of writing this I am only an episode ahead of this, so nothing I say has any knowledge behind it. But when they said Isha kinda reminds people of Powder, I’m like… “well that can’t be anything good now can it?” The whole Cait/Vi dynamic was fractured physically, emotionally and ethically. Caitlyn is now in a position where she is laying siege to VI’s home. So that wasn’t going to fly. Just like we were running all over the storylines in the last episode, this time we basically chose to run with one for the most part. Jinx has someone she’s actually concerned about now, something that she didn’t have previously so you can see her being a little less “with reckless abandon.” But it seems Isha is determined to make Jinx a symbol whether she likes it or not, because she doesn’t know any better. Kids are a little TOO innocent sometimes. It seems a lot of people are rallying for Jinx even without her doing anything - that’s how this works usually, you don’t choose to be a symbol, you kind of fall into it. That’s going to be even more so after she busted into the prison (same place Caitlyn rescued Vi before, remember?) and freed all the captives. Is it wrong that right now when I see two elevator doors right next to each other I’m unconsciously looking at the top of them? You know why… 😉 Turns out Singed was indeed working on a monstrosity and it seemed to recognize Powder. I was just as confused as you were when I saw “Warwick” so the search it returned just said “the name of a large powerful beast.” I can’t say more about this now but basically just wanted to let you know googling it didn’t help lol. Look, Jinx might not be everyone’s fave in this show, but what she lacks in empathetic likability she makes up for in being perhaps the most entertaining of the main characters just because you really have no idea what she’s going to do next. :)

To be fair to Cait there was like months of time passing since her and Vi split
