She is sent to a twisted mental institution, whose entire purpose seems to be to get her to break down, accept that she needs a guardian's loving care, and promise to be a good girl for the rest of her days. What are the odds of that happening, though?

This has been used for all her tattoos, creating a self-soothing compulsion for her to play with her body in a flirty way. As for why it’s a punishment to get all three, it is the institution telling her, “If you don’t follow our exact instructions, it will be this much worse for you.” She didn’t want even one tattoo, thinking they are low-class, and now she has four!
