Added 2024-11-13 13:53:36 +0000 UTCHey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 12 of Dr. Stone!!! Oh wow, this sulfuric acid stuff is no joke!!! I can see why Ginro is worried! But dang, I LOVE the display of bravery and friendship here from Chrome! And Kohaku!!! They're really cut from the same cloth huh! I love that Senku has this kind of backup!! And last but not least, Bodyguard Ginro is here just when we need him, PHEW!!! Can't wait for more! Enjoy! ~ MH

OMG Chrome!!! Same!!! I love what we got with Senku and Chrome here. And it's nice to see Ginro growing too lol! Isn't the siren analogy a fun way to represent that?! OMG you're so right about the crow and the scene from Purple Haze!!! This was totally a Jojo reference! Purple Haze could totally be sulfuric acid actually, that makes so much sense! I mean, there's bound to be a little bit of silliness or unrealistic-ness at some point! For the most part though, this is still really grounded compared to other shonen!!!

2024-11-22 15:40:54 +0000 UTCRight?! Yikes!!! That's the thing, like science originates from nature one way or another. They really came through right! I know what you mean! And omg same, like think of how many people died just to make these discoveries that are part of daily life now, sheesh!

2024-11-22 15:39:06 +0000 UTCThanks for the VA info! There's really nothing like having good sight all of a sudden, right?! Hahaha that was pretty clever to set things up that way right?! I'm sure I'd have a hard time fighting the urge to not jump in there in a similar situation! Love the borrowing of the phrase and omg no death flags please!

2024-11-22 15:35:27 +0000 UTCI love that! And the eps are fixed now, thanks! That's actually a great point about the sulfuric acid. It's crazy to think of how it may affect other characters, even Dio :P Lol yes I noticed that with the "Masked" title!!! I've seen the next eps now and I love what they did with the helmet!!!

2024-11-22 15:35:11 +0000 UTCMy cutie pie Chrome can't be this cool! I'm having so much respect for this him. Well, leaving aside realism issues, I think this was a great episode in terms of enjoyment. I really liked the exchange of words both Senkuu and Chrome had as well as the bond they have developed so far. On the other hand, seeing Ginrou finally growing some balls was a quite pleasant moment to see, figuratively speaking. Honestly, his general laid-back and cowardly attitude was starting to piss me off so I appreciate he could show another side of his character this time. By the way, what nice way to represent Ginrou's hallucination and subsequent fear due to the poisonous gas. I really liked that fairy/siren analogy. The scene with the crows and the sulphuric acid reminded me a lot of the episode from Golden Wind with Purple Haze, because the crows also died from Purple Haze in a similar way. So you could assume that Purple Haze Virus could be sulphuric acid that corrodes everything. a very good connection that I've never thought about in this way myself. Oh, and on a side note, yeah... Ginro being able to hold Chrome with the spear was quite unrealistic but come on, this scene is from the same show which has a guy who can run faster than boars and kill lions with one punch. Most shounen usually tend to have this lack of logic at some point and I'm sure there will be scenes even more absurd than this one so don't overthink it too much.

2024-11-15 16:41:41 +0000 UTCOh goodness! We entered the scary life threatening areas of science here. The death in Senku’s story was so simple and fast yet that’s what made it the most terrifying. Science is a huge part of the show but it’s definitely more than that. Nature and the elements contribute a great deal. So do experience and discipline with crafting. Ginro really came through and so did Chrome for not letting Senku go alone. That’s another fine example of their being other crucial facets even it comes to scientific discovery. Ginro may not be the brightest but he was crucial in the process. Man I love this show. I feel like I need to take a day and appreciate the people who have died in the processes of progression throughout history. It’s really something when you consider stuff like this. ⚗️🧪🧑🔬

2024-11-14 11:30:49 +0000 UTCPRIORITY ALERT! before I get started: while your posts and descriptions are correct for the episodes, you have the Episode 11 reaction video attached to the Episode 12 post and vice versa, if there’s a way for you to fix it. That being said, because this is Episode 11’s post, I’ll talk about it here, and talk about 12 in the other just to avoid confusion. New Character VA: Kaseki: Sverkel (Vinland Saga Season 2), Kenzou (JoJo Part 6) - *I may be wrong here but I think he might’ve been the Feng Shui Stand guy. Dr. Stone is clever at a lot of things but one of its best qualities is when it gets you to stop and think about something that you usually take for granted. In this case, it’s glasses and vision correction. As somebody who actually has had to have contact lenses, it’s really hard to quantify the first time you realize how much better you can see when your sight is adjusted for those who don’t deal with it. Also, Senku might be the protagonist of the story but he’s definitely got a sneaky side to him - he and Chrome were totally torturing Kaseki on purpose so he’d just go “let me do it!” Imagine how you’d feel if you saw someone else trying to crochet a figurine and having no idea where to even put the needle to start with . It’d drive you mad. :) It appears Kinro has the same issue as well as Suika, but sometimes you can’t really tell someone what they need - you have to show them. You also have to like how Kohaku is stealing Senku’s vocabulary “he ten billion percent just wants a silver spear.” Be careful what you wish for, Ginro… you may wish Kohaku was training you instead. Since it sounds like you’re about to die… :P

2024-11-14 06:01:17 +0000 UTCI really love how they depicted Mother Nature(or at least the "Lady of the Acid Lake"), because it's just so real. xD Because Nature *is* beautiful, majestic, and even alluring... But don't think it won't turn all of that on a dime and be the scariest mother f-er on the planet all because you were at the wrong place at the wrong time.

2024-11-13 15:02:40 +0000 UTCThat's why I love Dr. STONE. Senku keep inventing things in our era in his Stone world, and it is really useful and emotional. Also, seems like Dr. Stone episode is swapped. I don't know if you can swap the video file, but in case you can't, I will talking about the Sulfuric acid challenge here. I love it that they combine science and something like overcoming fear. The gas mask diffinitely protect you if you control your fear. That's an awesome way to convey this kind of thing as with some Shonen genre. It's more realistic. Come to think of it, Demon Slayers Strength sometime seems insane to me, but it also kinda realistic with their breathing techniques and a lot of training. I feel like if I do it right, I might also able to become as strong as them, althrough it is mostly impossible. Come to think of it, if Tanjiro or any of his friend is here, they would be a perfect candidate for Sulfuric Acid gathering missions. Can Nezuko withstand the acid? Nothing can killed a demon except The Sun and Nijirin Sword anyway. Would DIO also be fine without mask? Would it also fine for the pillar men? Hmm... the next episode name is kinda feel familiar to me. First of all, there is the word "Kamen" which mean "Mask", which is used by every Kamen Rider. And there some character like a + with a _ base which could mean warrior. Well, speak of Masked Warrior, who do you think they trying to hint at us? Sulfuric acid is already gathered, so there might be no point to use the gas mask again for the time being. Anyhow, Suika is the only one in the village who wear mask, but she's not the warrior. Maybe she lend her mask to someone? For what purpose?
