Dr. Stone 1x11 "Clear World" - reaction & review

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 11 of Dr. Stone!!! WOW!! I never thought they could get me with a pair of glasses, but how freaking beautiful and wholesome was that whole story with Suika?!?!?! I love it! And it makes total sense we'd need glass for storage too! So, now we all know where glass comes from :P Next we're doing stuff with silver!! Can't wait for more! Enjoy! ~ MH

When I tell you Senku and Suika’s friendship is one of my favorite things in the manga, I mean it. IYKYK

They really did right! LOL!!!!! I love the vibes with you and your brother, you're a total expert when it comes to cooking!!! Senku has such a way with people, I absolutely love that. It's all from a place of positivity/passion though, like you said! OMG best scene ever of Suika putting on the glasses, like how do they make something so simple so beautiful!!! That's so well said, it just makes you appreciate every nuance of every little modern convenience! I wouldn't even be able to see to write you this comment right now without corrective lenses haha!!!

LOL same here Manny!!!! :'((( It's so true, nothing will make you more grateful for the world we live in than this show. I love my glasses too <333

Oh oops, I probably just got the VAs confused lol. I honestly don't remember if I meant stigmatism but probably lol, I have that too! Good call on the marriage question being Kohaku's test for Chrome, hadn't thought of that. Such a good point about fear! Yeah I'm honestly not sure how long this tribe has been around...like it feels like a while, considering how primitive they are, right?! Who knows...!

OMG it was so beautiful, like it's so simple yet so effective on my feels XD Can't wait to hear more later!

They really nailed the whole grouchy craftsman vibe perfectly. It felt like I was watching myself observing my brother in the kitchen (usually, I'm the cook and treat it as a hobby). "No, that's not right. Put that there. Metal in my nonstick pans? Seriously? Dude, it'll be faster and more even if you... you know what, move aside, I'll handle it, just stir that pot, please." Senku's talent for baiting people is something else. The fact that he enjoys it makes it even more entertaining to watch. And then he puts on this scary face, talking about how much use he's going to get out of the people he's baited. It's clever writing because his manipulation stems from understanding the passion for a craft. Just look at how moved and proud he looks watching Kaseki at work! Senku making glasses got me right in the feels. Suika being able to see was just incredibly heartwarming—definitely one of my favorite moments in the episode! And that's what I love about the show. Senku keeps creating things that we, as viewers, might not find mind-blowing because we take so much for granted nowadays. But seeing the villagers' reactions really puts things into perspective. Fortunately, I haven't had to wear glasses yet, but many of my family members wear glasses because otherwise they would see next to nothing. And that's why I think it's all the better that glasses have been invented. Because I wouldn't know what people would do without them.

I will forever be ashamed of my bratty kid self denying the beauty of glasses and LensCrafters 😭 This episode is the epitome of taking things we have at our convenience for granted. I love you, glasses! 👓 🤓 ❤️

This will be my Episode 12 comment (as mentioned previously, the videos posted for 11 & 12 are currently crisscrossed). Quick clarification: I think you may have misspoke but just in case you didn’t, Ginro’s VA is not the same as Koichi’s, but rather, Hinata from Haikyu! That was probably who you were thinking of at the time. :) When we were talking about eye correction, we’re you thinking of a stigmatism? They use that term with me quite often. Alright, anyway, not every discovery made with science was done without risk of life or limb - as you can see by the one scientist tying his show, sonetimes knowledge was gained through tragic mishaps. The whole exchange between Senku and Chrome is kind of the ongoing human saga between doing what is logical and doing what is human. Just because it “makes the most sense” doesn’t mean it’s what you’re going to accept, and in this case, Chrome refuses to let Senku go by himself. Two heads are better than one as they say. Kohaku is willing to put everything on the line for Ruri, even her own reputation - she refuses to follow the path set for her because it means her sister can quit trying. Also I do think her asking Chrome if he’d be okay marrying her instead was more like a test to see where his mind was at. She’s such a free spirit, it’s going to take one heckuva guy to get her to even think about settling down… lol. Kaseki learned from Senku and certainly started manipulating him early enough. Nice if you to just happen to make another gas mask, how did that happen? 👀 They said fear keeps people alive, but I suppose one of the biggest human fears is losing a friend. We all do some interesting things as people when we’re motivated. Ginro might be a bit of klutz and slightly annoying, but he came through when it counted. Apparently the most important job of the priestess, Ruri in this case, is “the Hundred Tales,” and only she knows them - Kohaku didn’t want to know (see above). But there’s a loophole in your assumption it’s been generations here. See, the entire world was petrified at the same time - while we saw Senku get revived, how did so many people already de-petrify when they were nowhere near revival fluid which happened by accident, without scientific know how, in the first place? I’m going to let you noodle on that for a while. Have fun coming up with an answer. :)

The episode titles/descriptions for DR Stone this week are swapped, just to let you know. xD Also Suika seeing with glasses for the first time might be THE most beautiful moment in all of Dr. Stone. I was going to go into the whole thing about why this is my favorite post apocolytpic story HERE... But I popped off on that a little too early. xD
