Dr. Stone 1x06 "Two Nations of the Stone World" - reaction & review

Google Drive Link posted under description!

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to season 1 episode 6 of Dr. Stone!!! Wow guys, we're really entering a whole new phase! I hate to see our crew splitting up, but I get it that we can't waste the advantage we have right now against Tsukasa. Probably a good call leaving some of the more delicate aspects of this spy operation to Yuzu :) Oh yeah, and we finally got a little bit about a new character!! Tsukasa really messed up getting someone in his new empire...but Senku saved them with science, so that's a win!!! What lies ahead? Guess we'll find out! Can't wait for more! Enjoy! ~ MH

ah so it looks like I DID already watch this reaction, good to know xD I thought I remembered you meeting Kohaku.... but not enough, I'll just watch it again xD

NarumiYutani

yessssssssssssssss, Kohaku is my favourite (female) character , whohooo ^^ even though I cosplayed her sister rather than her xD (easier Wig and dress and props 😅😅🤣🤣)

Not to mention you saw how long it took for them to successfully make the Miracle Fluid... Would it be crazy that rebuilding humanity and saving the stone humans would be major, major, major, MAJORLY big project that might take a few generations to start truly seeing the fruit of their labor? ;D ... I'll wait until next episode, but I feel like there's a good "What-If" premise here. I can't explain my reasons now though. :c ...However with Senku around, well... Maybe we don't need to get to the next generation to start seeing some results. o:

Trial and error is the key here! I can't wait to see what he said to Yuzu, it def has something to do with the whole shattering thing right? HAHAHA awww it's giving Polnareff for sure :P It would seem the new girl is a descendant right? Senku is so determined for sure. OMG everyone loves this girl, I cannot wait to get to know her! So cool about her VA! Oof, yeah, I'm sure it's so much more complex than I could imagine!

Melissa Moore

I can totally see that, it was great to spotlight it too! I agree, Senku's motives are pretty direct/on the surface except that there's more to him. Awww I know, I love the idea that they don't need to thank each other because that's what friends are for :) I'm sad to see everyone split but I'm excited for a new path on this adventure!!!

Melissa Moore

It truly was!!!!!! I loved getting to see all those scenes! And the OST was so fire! Hahaha yes the expression!!! I thought it was interesting that they showed us all that and then cut back to present where we had more context for the current situation. I love how well they worked together on this! And the flag <333 I really hope they still meet again but even if they didn't, what a place to leave things! Kohaku seems to be popular, I can't wait to get to know her better! Yeah no one stands a chance against Tsukasa! Senku was SO OP here!!!!!!!!!! XD Can't wait for more!!

Melissa Moore

Hahah I hear you! OMG!!!! You know how I get when I get paranoid/theorizing though, that would've set me off sooooooooooo much :P

Melissa Moore

Yeah, I couldn't help myself there. 🤣 I was even thinking about suggesting that some people from the OP might be a next generation(they're not), but I thought that'd be too much. 😆 Though there's one kid in the OP who looked like he'd be Taiju and Yuzuriha's kid.

Senpai

Aww yay Kohaku!! Oh wow, it's crazy to think we've barely actually gotten started! Dang, we're only on the PB part?! I'm excited to see where it goes!! Sounds like we have a lot of new things coming. Ooooh good call on the meaningfulness, I'll try to pay attention!

Melissa Moore

LOL!!! I honestly wasn't sure based on the comments!!! I'm sad we're split up from our crew, but I get it! Oh I can't wait to meet the new characters! I can totally see why, this ED is really good!

This episode really showcased that side of Senku that I love so much. Even though he works by logic, even though he knew Taiju was near him, it didn’t stop him from getting emotional when he finally decided to dig up his friend. I love that it’s all for the love of science with Senku. You know what he’s about right as you meet him. He’s a pretty straightforward guy. But that’s not all he’s about. There’s so much more to him. I love that dialogue about “don’t go thanking me for every little thing… I won’t thank you either” he said indirectly to Yuzuriha. It’s what the dynamic consists of. He’s the science guy yes but he couldn’t have done anything without them and vice versa; no need for thank yous all the time. It’s what they do. Taiju and Yuzuriha really came through for him. I’m sad to see them split for know but I’m curious to know more about the people like Kohaku. I’ve noticed she has hunting tools of her own. What does this mean? 👀

As you can see from the continued flashback, Senku isn’t just “falling into everything” immediately, it took a lot of trial and error before he came up with the formula for the revival fluid. Also, the petrification affected humans and swallows, but that seems to be it. As you can see he has tons of petrified swallows he’s experimenting on. In fact, Einstein himself had to toil a lot before he came up with the famous foundational block of science that Senku inscribed on his cloak: E=MC2. A quick lesson: this formula declares that energy is equal to mass times the speed of light squared - in other words, energy and mass are interchangeable, they are different forms of the same thing. This equation has profound implications for understanding the relationship between matter and energy in the universe. We see that Taiju and Senku are basically two sides of a coin trying to revive each other and how much effort they put into it. Of course the fact that Senku isn’t all emotional when he gets back up relieves Yuzuriha, because it’s clear he’s still him. It seems that repairing a shattered statue and trying to revive it just results in a shattered corpse, but all of a sudden Senku has realized something and tells Yuzuriha that his idea is really grueling. She is inclined to agree, but she’s also up for it. Whatever the case is, Senku needs to infiltrate Tsukasa without him realizing he’s still alive. Oh, and we kept Taiju out of this loop - the less he knows, the better for everyone? (By the way, there’s a Jean-Pierre Polnareff on line 1 for you🤣). Tsukasa meanwhile has run into a young girl but he’s a bit bewildered when she attacks him, and comes to the conclusion she’s too young to have learned these skills in the past civilization. So is she a descendant? The air around her is a mystery, but after Tsukasa pins her, he doesn’t much care to follow up, as he’s trying to get the miracle water from the cave needed for revival and gunpowder. This is where Senku shows his own perseverance, similar to what Yuzuriha was saying about crafting - you have to be willing to see things through to get results, and as she’s got nowhere to go, she is impressed as he fashions a pulley and does more of his so called sorcery. Kohaku has officially entered the building, and yes, she’s MY favorite character as well. As for the reasons why we like her and give her a best girl title, well, you just met her, give it some time. As for her voice, the ones I know you’ll have references for are Pieck from AoT, and Hinata (the holy knight leader) from Slime. You have some interesting theories about who she could be and how she is currently “existing.” All I’ll say is remember the last time this show was 25 steps ahead of you? It’s like that. We wouldn’t want to give away the surprise. 😁 Things are about to get ten billion percent more interesting.

This was such a golden experience! Excellent soundtracks , pretty solid science and just a brilliant combination of it all. First up, more info and monologues from Senku's side regarding his experiment and his handling of the whole Stone Age period. Awesome way to bring back Senku too with the casual science dump but that moment of synchronization of that touching quote from the two was a really awesome addition! Great stuff! Really loved that ost which played during Senku's attempts at reviving Taiju though, and lol at that "HUH?!!" expression. And then second half onwards, back to current events. Yuzuriha coming up with that trick of supporting the neck was really nice and Senku using that flag as a farewell to Taiju was really touching. Damn, they may never meet again maybe but it's good to see they'r on full course to doing their parts. Meanwhile, we're introduced to Kohaku who is a a favorite character of mine. I´m sure you will love her as well!!! But of courses she doesn't even a millimeter of a chance against Tsukasa's might. Damn, building that pulley on the spot though, Senku never disappoints.

YAY! Kohaku! I miss her so much! She still cute and beautiful as ever! Now, I think you have stepped into the turning point. I usually think the REAL Dr. Stone will start from here. It's like someone who only admire Jojo for how it have stand don't like Phantom Blood and Battle Tendency. If comparing to Jojo in my perspective, you have already finished Phantom Blood arc. Starting from this point, things gonna escalate into a different perspective. It will be a while until we see Taiju and Yuzuriha again. But in their place, we gonna see Senku build a lot of things that we think it is impossible to invent in this Stone World. And that's what I like about Dr. Stone. Imagine something we have in our era, and think as if Senku says he gonna make those things in the Stone World. For the last thing. Dr. Stone is another series which its opening convey a lot of meaningful vision. Every scene in the opening seems to have meaning. You might want to focus on each of detail in the opening from now on.

;D Assssss iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiffffffffffffffff they'd kill Senku off that easily! Not much to say, other than say goodbye to Taiju and Yuzu for now. :c It's not like we won't see them until the end of the series, but they are still getting put on a bus for now. Next time we'll have to introduce more characters to replace them... But I wish one of those characters was my boy. ToT The ending of episode 6 is where I absolutely fell in love with the ED though.
