Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the eleventh/fifth OVA in this long-awaited series!!! This one was so good and again, did not miss a beat!! I really liked that they kept the great dialogue between Polnareff and Kakyoin in there! And the resolution was pretty much just how I remembered it, except Hol Horse didn't get their car this time lol. Too bad we have to skip Empress, but I'm excited to see how different things can get with Enya this time around!! Good stuff - enjoy! ~ MH

Yeah that's what I thought too! J Geil Band is a band from the 70s/80s, one of their biggest hits was "Angel in a Centerfold", so it makes sense that they'd do a localized version of the name that still has a connection to the original name! (You may know this band better for another one of their hits, "Love Stinks", which made for a pretty funny scene in a movie called "The Wedding Singer" with Adam Sandler lol!!) OMG I was out for blood that first time!!! OMG Araki comes up with some of the most vile stuff (wait till you get to Part 7) but I've gotta believe he just gets it all out of his system and is gentle as a lamb afterwards lol!!! Awww poor Kakyoin!!! :(((( I wish it had been different, but you're right, he never did get to see Part 5 :(((( Hahaha the gleam in Buffy's eye is scary enough without even being a Stand, because it means she just went into zoom / play mode :P OMG for real, sometimes I wonder if the baby is just like "what the--??" while I'm freaking out over all these shows haha!!!

It was already weird thinking back to part three after part 5 and now hearing a bunch of Polnareff dialogue about living to fight just twists the knife that was left in me. I do believe you’re right about that rotten ugly face getting impaled. I remember that because it was so satisfying. That dirtbag. It would make sense to maybe leave Avdol out in this one since they’re cutting a lot. Hopefully they make it work. Great episode. I really liked this one. I loved revisiting this one it just had so many amazing moments 🪙

2024-09-17 10:57:11 +0000 UTCThis pretty much just follows what we’ve seen previously about beat for beat, I didn’t notice any major changes, so there’s not a whole lot to chew on. Obviously it’s one of the key arcs in the “arc” itself so you knew they’d have to do it. J. Geil (I believe he was referred to as Centerfold?) is not a reference I’m actually familiar with, so do you know what the name is referring to? If so, enlighten me. But you know, just watching you seethe harder and harder makes me recall just how mad you got the first time - especially after I sort of told you what they were implying when the sister was first brought up. I think you may have gone into full bloodlust mode. 😆 Nice to see some things don’t change, but it also makes you wonder - you think Araki enjoys creating really nasty villains? Because he certainly knows what buttons to push. (He’s probably the nicest guy in real life, too, but all mangaka need to have a dark side to tap into). Anyway, I don’t think we did anything that tied the girl in, and by the way please don’t be too hard on Kakyoin regarding the mirrors. He never got to see Part 5. Hey, I think there’s something in Buffy’s eye, btw… You may want to make a note not to watch this arc in a couple months when you start needing to keep your blood pressure down a little though… 👀😅
