Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the ninth/third OVA in this long-awaited series!!! Oh dang guys, we POWER RAN through like four stories here hahaha! They toned the monkey down a LOT which is honestly not a bad thing I guess lol, but I thought they did well with Polnareff's intro! I love his design too! They also hinted a lot at what the next story would be so we have something to look forward to!!! All in all, I'd say despite the big trimming this was well done!! Good stuff - enjoy! ~ MH

I don't think they gave specifics in the anime, not sure about the manga. We know that he has a butler and enough cash to buy a car outright, so that's definitely more than average rich haha. And in Part 4, Koichi says he's heard of Joseph as a big real estate mogul, which would imply he's pretty loaded/powerful. Right, they find a way to make it all work here! Oh yeah he was def not on the boat but I'm kinda glad he was here to overshadow the monkey and its antics :/ Right, the night time ambience gives a nice spooky vibe as well! Okay you're the second person to remember the monkey in the suit so it must be true!!! I guess I just blocked it out of trauma :P

OMG I hear you, I wasn't complaining they skipped that part :P Ooohhh ok then maybe he did wear the suit! Like part of me kinda remembers him wearing it, I just can't recall when/where/why he put it on haha. Ooooh I have to go see which fight he brought the armor thing back in, that's so cool!!! I always thought he should use it more lol. OMGGGGGGG you're so right, we totally missed out on the cute little skipper outfit from Joseph :(((((((((((((((((((((( Wahhhhhh!! Haha :P

2024-09-10 15:32:22 +0000 UTCI knew that Polnareff at the end last time! He looks good! 🥰 Okay wow they got a lot in here. It was definitely more spooky wasn’t it? The newer one got creepy as we got introduced to forever but this was haunting outright. Thank goodness we skipped what needed to be deleted forever. Yes, I remember Forever putting on the suit altogether I think he didn’t have pants on. I could be wrong about that though. Man I keep forgetting how Chariot could remove his armor. I remember it was brought back very in one of his fights. I can’t remember which one it was but it hasn’t very quick. A very underutilized ability. This one like five in one but it was great. My only complaint is we didn’t get Joseph in his cute little striped suit when he was on the ship. 🚢 🦍

2024-09-10 10:51:30 +0000 UTCI think in the “original” anime that it’s never fully divulged how rich Joseph is, that sounds like something covered more in detail in the manga, perhaps? Which is why it doesn’t really bat an eye when they fly commercial. (The bigger question was how did Tower of Grey know exactly what plane to be on…) In that vein, keep in mind that these story episodes do have to flow from one yo the next so whatever they don’t cover, they have to make some sense as they transition, story wise at least. Polnareff was definitely not on the boat, and the orangutan was definitely not the same… I will also point out in the anime this all takes place during the daytime - here it’s night. Which adds to the horror vibe. As far as the orangutan wearing the outfit I do think I remember seeing that happening. But I don’t really have time to rewatch stuff these days so I don’t really recall everything. Anyway, I’ll see what the next one is before weighing in on future thoughts.
