Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to the seventh/first OVA in this long-awaited series!!! Wow guys, this was a lot of fun! I'm seriously digging the intro with Jonathan and Dio at the beginning, not to mention the nods to Jotaro kinda having flashbacks of it? It's no intro with the girl getting sacrificed lol, but I think I even kinda like it better! Other than that they did a good job of pretty much hitting every beat I could remember from these eps. The Stands looked great, and I think all the VAs are the same as the 1993 edition, which helps with consistency! Good stuff - enjoy! ~ MH

Right?! They did such a good job with it!!!!!!! It really is sort of in your face intense! HAHAHAHAHA clearly Enyaba and Valentine were going to the same beauty spa XD

But they’re all good! I like how each version has its own distinguishing style of dramatics. This one’s so in your face kind of intensity and I love it! lol And wow Enyaba what have you been doing? She got the Valentine treatment done.

2024-09-03 16:03:41 +0000 UTCI didn't remember all that detail either, maybe they added/rearranged some of it? Ok cool glad I remembered that right too. I can see your pov with the voice acting; honestly I think it may have been an overall choice based on how they've edited some of the story to be more "grounded" or serious. But I do miss the range/comedy/emphasis on different tones that the anime brought us! LOL yeah we'll be back at prison before ya know it haha!

2024-09-03 14:18:16 +0000 UTCI don’t recall them showing that much of what actually occurred with Jonathan, but hey you got the obligatory gratuitous intro. :P No, I don’t think Joseph ever said how long he’d been away from Japan, just that he has a severe distaste for it because of Holly’s husband. I do think I need to criticize the voice acting a little here, though, they’re pretty much sounding like “this is what I need to say” and that’s it - there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of emotion behind it - the anime did a much better job at creating distinct character traits. It might be just because it was the first episode but it felt like I was just getting a book report. We’ll see how it goes in the future. By the way Jotaro ain’t going to be the last Joestar to hang around in a prison… :P
