Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to MHA season 7, episode 12!!! WOW you guys, this one was really filled with hope at the end of the day! Hope for a repair of Bakugo's heart, hope for the future vs. AFO and crew trying to destroy the future, etc.! I'm gonna keep my fingers crossed about this whole heart repair, maybe things aren't actually over yet! And omg, don't tell me Dabi actually learned Shoto's move that fast?! Last but not least, that ENDING!!!! There's nothing like a sad, nostalgic moment, followed by some CHEEKS, followed by Izuku busting in on the scene!!! DANG!! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

I think you're right, it's looking hopeful! And that's so true, it doesn't feel like a copout because there's still a tremendous sacrifice involved. That's so true, Bakugo's still basically out of commission now. Omg, I'm both excited and scared to see Izuku's reaction!!!! The breaks are killing me too! I get it! I think they're due to the Olympics but hopefully it's giving the animators some well deserved rest too!!!

2024-08-12 14:23:15 +0000 UTCIt seriously is! Like now Edge Shot is gonna be MVP of all time, and we don't know him that well, but somehow it's still so moving because of what he's willing to do to save our boy. Yeah we got a fairly clear look at it this time! Oh thank you about catching the Rewind thing! It's so rare that I have any big brain moments haha. I know, the new form is sick in so many ways!!! There's so many people dealing with family trauma on this show....Shigaraki is not handling it in a particularly healthy way :P Hahahha we totally need some Mirio lightheartedness, did we not?! OMG Izuku's entrance was SO GOOD!!! Another week off, I think it's due to the Olympics again! It's killing me too, I get it!!!

2024-08-12 14:21:45 +0000 UTCThis show’s ability to make you emotional for characters we barely know is crazy. Ever since we first saw him, Edgeshot has just been “cool ninja guy”. And yet I was tearing up at his sacrifice to try saving Bakugo. It feels crazy that after all this time we *finally* get to see the upper half of what AfO’s face used to look like. There’s still the one eye obscured but still. I’m really scared of what he could do now that he’s in his prime again, with however many Quirks that they might not know about. Good job catching that the rewind might be why the Brother sensed his Quirks increasing, I didn’t think of that. Shigaraki’s new form looks crazy. Hands over the mouth, grabbing his head, around his arms. It’s like a freaky upgrade of his original design. And then forming the giant fingers on his left hand into his family. 😨 he’s literally taking his trauma out on everyone else. And god, I can definitely see people thinking it’s jarring but I’m so glad we got that Mirio bit at the end. These last two seasons have been so stressful, we needed some jokes. And GODDAMN, the way Deku came in with that kick was so satisfying! Also man, another break this week?! They’re killing me here! 😭

2024-08-09 16:09:49 +0000 UTCLeaving a short comment here. It’s still so bold to kill a character like Bakugo even temporarily since I think it is clear that he will survive but I love that this survival doesn’t feel cheap because it requires an amazingly well written sacrifice. Also what’s great is that the cost is that most likely even when he wakes up Bakugo will be out of the battle & possibly the story besides maybe internal thoughts & talking. And we are going to get great narrative & character stuff because Izuku is going to see what happened to his best friend although it’s going to be upsetting to see his reaction. I can’t wait for the next episode but it’s kind of driving me insane that there are all these breaks although I am glad the animators are getting more time to work on the show & hopefully some rest because of the weeks off. :-) <3

2024-08-08 15:25:31 +0000 UTCWell said about finishing a story! I do love that they incorporated Eri's quirk and tied in the Overhaul story. I think you're right, someone else confirmed the arm thing! I know, I do feel bad for Edge Shot! It raises a big ethical dilemma, but on the other hand, it does fit with the theme we've seen of the previous generation sacrificing to pave the way for the new generation. I wonder if Shigaraki's fixation on fixing something he destroyed will come back into play too. Haha yeah, I mean, I'm sure they always speak Japanese at the White House :P But yeah, not a great look for our officials. Yeah, apparently Dabi woke up and managed to learn Shoto's big technique that he used on him, sheesh. That's so true, these are the same computers being used to restrain him. So true, what even is AFO at this point? HAHAHA I said what I said :P Also I think MHA should def take that award! I love the giant SMASH that actually appeared on the screen! I'd give it a 10/10 XD

2024-08-07 14:32:30 +0000 UTCHi Spadeas! ^_^ Ooohhh yeah you were right about that! I can't believe Dabi is back and actually learned the technique!! That's true, at least AFO doesn't have much time to do whatever he's gonna do! AFO is pretty unmatched on egos for sure. Poor Mirko, I thought it looked like she lost another limb! OMG, so many fights going on next time! I can't wait but I'm scared!!

2024-08-07 14:26:51 +0000 UTCI should preface this by saying shout out to the original mangaka for finishing the story (I don’t read it for spoilers sake myself), but it’s hard enough to get a story into the mainstream - and it’s an even a bigger accomplishment to actually finish what you started. I think the whole rewind using Eri’s Quirk trait is a pretty good way to tie it back to the Overhaul arc and everything that was going on there. The doctor did say that what he left in the box for AFO was not the same as the bullets but rather, a more accurate manifestation of the original ability. So now AFO is on a timer as well and wants to finish by helping Shigaraki. I might be crazy but I think that Shigaraki may have ripped off Mirko’s arm during her struggle, it almost looked like she was missing one. Like that would ever stop her. As for the Bakugo situation, it makes sense anime logic wise to have a crazy answer for a crazy situation - but at the same time it sounds like Edge Shot is giving up his own existence for this - and I’m unsure how I feel about this overall. I mean, sure, Bakugo is a much more prominent character in the story and his overall effect is going to be felt more - but at the same time, does that make another’s life less valuable? There’s some real thematic values at work in this situation. By the way, this whole plot line is so insane there’s no way it’s not working - right? Shigaraki seems generally disturbed by the prospect of something he has already destroyed being repaired (in this case, Bakugo) to the point he started focusing all his attention on it. There’s a good amount of consternation on his part over this, and I wonder if that’s gonna play a factor later. Had to snicker a little when they showed the whole scene in the White House and everyone was speaking in Japanese. I get why, but still… also apparently it’s gotten that bad already huh? Well, as an American myself, I can say fairly certain that looking for the path of least trouble is definitely something we tend to examine - but in this case, uh… this isn’t a great look. Seems like Timothy was getting in more trouble for helping Star. Another American trope - doing what’s right tends to upset the authorities. What happened to Dabi, I thought he was unconscious? Now he copied Shoto? That’s not good… You were getting a little freaked out when Shigaraki went at the big three, but he kinda paid Mirio the ultimate insult when he said - you aren’t even worth the time. Honestly, that was probably the most galling thing he could’ve done to him, worse than actually hurting him. I should point out Septic is literally hacking into the computers keeping Shigaraki locked in place too. It seems like AFO’s bloodlust has just about taken over at this point - how much of the original is even left at this point? Who can say? “That was one of the cheekiest…” you do realize what you’re doing, right? So does this mean we should nominate MHA for best moon shot? Gotta say there’s definitely some manga panel inspiration with a couple shots in this episode with Mirko’s wham, and Deku’s impact literally says “SMASH.” Since we’re taking off this weekend for the Olympics again I feel like we should put a score up on his entrance and judge accordingly. Inn gonna say… 9.8. :P

2024-08-06 20:03:41 +0000 UTCHi Hime :) I said for this episode "what could go wrong?", the answer for a good part was everything. We have the return of Dabi, besides if you remember, I told you when he was beaten the first time, that there was still so much to come that we can be sure of nothing, it's precisely because I knew that he wasn't finished. But also, now he created his own version of Shoto's technique, so he comes back even stronger than before. We also have Afo using the rewind to come back in better conditions, which is not good at all. But on the other hand, and I didn't want to spoil this for you last time, he will continue to get younger until he disappears, so it's not completely bad news either lol. It's also funny that Dabi and AfO both fight with the idea of disappearing, they don't seek to survive, just to eliminate threats and achieve their objectives. AfO positions himself as a real villain, on a global scale, stealing everyone's future, so that everyone hates him or submits to him. If we had to compare egos, I see very few that match him there. Also, even if it goes by quickly, Mirko sacrificed another member. She had lost her left leg and right arm (as well as a piece of her ears) during the previous arc, now she sacrificed her other arm... It's a good thing we're at the end of the series because otherwise there wouldn't be much left of her for the future. Next episode, start of the fight between Izuku and ShigAfO, besides that we have Shoto against Dabi, Endeavor and Hawks against AfO, Ochako and Tsuyu against Toga and even if it was shown quickly, Shoji and Koda are facing Spinner. So we have our match ready, let the fight resume.
