Bad Batch 3x15 "The Cavalry Has Arrived" reaction & review

Google Drive Link posted below description!

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to Bad Batch, season 3 episode 15! OMG!!! What an amazing finale!!!! So many things got wrapped up here, including the overall story of our crew - starting out disillusioned, displaced, etc. and completing the journey as individuals who not only discovered their own lives and freedom, but helped others do so as well. Not to mention Omega's story coming so beautifully full circle, with starting with her being cooped up in a lab, and ending with her off to explore the galaxy and defend the freedom of others. The fights were amazing, the Zillo is free, the kids are free, the clones are free, and our crew all made it out - you can't ask for much more than that! Too bad about Nala Se but she took Rampart with her! And Crosshair getting in that beautiful shot to take down Hemlock was chef's kiss!!!! Great ep, great season and great series! Enjoy! ~ MH

Me too! I know, it feels like they have some hope for a new life. I LOVE that part at the end!!! I'd love to see Omega again too, I really hope we do!!

I'm glad that the Clones got justice and freedom by the end of this series. That after everything they went through, they finally have a place to go where they can just live their lives. The part with Omega and Hunter at the end really made me tear up. They made it. And who knows, we might see Omega again someday, flying in the Rebellion.

HAHAHAHA for real, like I was still sobbing despite the happy ending! Yes, the full circle thing for sure. HAHAHA I love how the Dads know it's her somehow! Ooooh you're so right about how each of her actions reflects one of them! I think Emerie is a huge metaphor for those who started out supporting the Empire. Yeah that's true about Nala Se being the last of her kind. But she did go down doing something pretty important, which is great. LOL Rampart was totally always gonna be a weasel. That's the big downfall of the Empire, is being too overconfident / arrogant! I knew he was done for as soon as he said that. I think you could be right about the rain scene. That's true, this time the stakes were high for Crosshair. OMG, I'd love to see Omega in spinoff! Seeing Leia, maybe seeing Hera...!!! OMG yes, that would be my only complaint, not enough Hondo :P

Melissa Moore

Saltire, thank you so much! I wanted to let you know I see this and I'm going to jump in and read/write back when I can really go through it thoroughly. I'm excited to see what you have to say about the finale and I'm so glad you joined me for this one! I'll be in touch soon!!!

Melissa Moore

Oh my gosh, you did a great job with the armor talk, I didn't know a thing! I still can't believe they got the good ending, but I'm so glad! At this rate, it was more unpredictable to let them all live happily ever after! Omg the conversation, the mention of Tech, it's so heart wrenching for sure! That's the thing, like they definitely made us worry, but at the end of the day, it was almost more of a twist to have them all come out ok. OMG I would LOVE that show featuring Omega!!!! Omega and Hera meeting back up!! Dad Batch cameos!!!! Disney, please hurry up and do this!!! Oh I'd love to see it, go ahead and send me the link! I have a tiktok account so I should be able to see it :) Thanks!

I couldn't agree more!! For real, like this was the happy ending yet we're still crying haha! Happy tears I guess :) Nala Se really went down fighting, she was a real one in the end! OMG the fade to black with all of them snuggling was so beautiful! Older Omega, older Hunter, the Crosshair hug - it was all too much! I'm so happy they all made it out, including Wrecker! He was waving those death flags hard for a bit! They absolutely were toying with us the whole time, not cool lol. YAY! They got to make their own choices and live long lives! I'm so happy you enjoyed the ending too, and as hard as it was to say "see you later" (definitely not goodbye!), I'm grateful for this time we had with them! Thank YOU for joining me on this epic journey!

That was so good! That was intense work but they did it! That was the best case scenario so why am I crying? 😭 RIP to Nala Se. She went out with a bang. I’m not even trying to be funny. Any other method of choice and she still would have went out leaving a mark. She ended things beautifully. I cried when it faded to black and then more after the time skip. Omega looked so beautiful and brave. And seeing Hunter order just did it for me. As she hugs Crosshair first. And gawd freaking bless Wrecker for making it out. The pang in my heart never left whenever they were poking at his possible demise. They know what they were doing teasing that. That’s not right. 😭 The kids are safe. The batch are living as they want to and will always be there for one another. That was absolutely amazing. I’m watching this again. I can’t say goodbye. I will never say goodbye to this group. Thank you 👏

This episode was A LOT! To take in as well as a lot to let go. I don't really like giving hints or spoilers. So in one of the 2 last episodes i was talking about the story the armor tells. I was trying to tread as lightly as i could with wordplay while writing that, cause i could've said something that would spoil how this ended. One of the main reasons i was talking about that subject was because Clone force 99 had got the good ending and all got to live happily ever after. Anyway, to the episode. Probably one of my favorite scenes from this episode and the one that broke me the most. Was the conversation/debate they had before infiltrating the base. Wrecker being Wrecker and then Crosshair reality checking him pulled those heart strings so much. Especially when he said that line bringing my beloved Tech into it 😞. Then I was immediately reassured by both Hunter and Wrecker immediately after Crosshair tried to sacrifice himself. I love how they ended this show. I know most people love a high stakes sacrifice ending for most show finales. But a show doesn't always need that. Sometimes a happy ending is the route to go. We did get some sacrificial hints from Wrecker and Crosshair the whole episode tho. This ending also gives us a huge opportunity for an Omega rebel show. Imagine it, a show where she becomes a rebel pilot and through the journey she forms her own Bad Batch squad like Hera and the Phoenix squad. And to touch on that, We could see Omega and Hera reunite as adults. That would be insane. We could also see the old men Dad Batch as cameos here and there. So much potential for a good show. I wanna show you a heart warming video from tiktok that's connected to the finale. I don't know if you have tiktok or if I can just link this video to you. But you gotta see it lol. Anyway! I hope you thoroughly enjoyed this season and the finale, I know I sure did.

That intro put me on tenterhooks throughout. It really did feel final and that someone wasn't going to make it. It helped raise the tension even more going into this final episode. Hemlock displaying a lot of imperial arrogance this episode, telling Rampart how "vital" he is to the Empire. Many thought that lad, even Rampart himself, before he was cast aside. He continues with this later when he mentions that clone loyalty is a weakness, yet its what brings this whole place down. And finally with Tarkin, where he says everything is in control when its going south very quickly. That's one of his mistakes this series, and the second was letting Omega in with those kids, that seals his fate. Great seeing Dr. Scalder get a taste of her own medicine by the droid. Shame the Zillo didn't eat her however! As the kids prepare to make their way out of The Vault, we hear a version of Omega's Theme kick in, this is her own squad working together to get through this, even if those kids aren't trained or ready for it. She'll get them out though, by hook or by crook. Its so horrible and creepy hearing the screams of an infant in such a sterile place such as this, where such terrible things go on; so unnatural, as what they are doing to the Zillo Beast. Omega however has other ideas and frees it, and man does it get its revenge on all of them! We see later as it escapes, all those stormtroopers firing on it - 2 full divisions! - and it takes them all out! It will go into the jungle and hide under the surface to see out the rest of its days hopefully. Outside we begin to see the toll this place is racking up on Crosshair once again, as his hand starts shaking violently. This comes to a head when he offers to sacrifice himself to help Omega; its sad to see how much he is self-loathing here that its what he thinks he deserves, but at least will try to do something right as he executes Plan 99. Hunter and Wrecker tell him no chance, that Omega needs all of them, showing they are with him all the way. Sad to see, but realistic to someone who feels such remorse and PTSD, but the fact he feels that suggests hope isn't lost for him to find a way out of this mental trauma. Hemlock activates "the Badder Batch", his team of operatives, to try to restore control, and temporarily they do so, taking out our crew brutally, torturing Wrecker while Hunter is knocked out, and slicing off Crosshair's shooting hand. It was never going to be easy this. Omega meets up with Emerie and Echo, and says adieu to the kids, and the moment they hug her gets me every time. They realise what she did to help them out. Note Echo doesn't say to Omega to go off with them, he knows she needs no more mollycoddling, and that she is the finished article and will complete the mission. They then free Nala Se and the clones (and that snake Rampart), who will help them end this place. The clones telling them they have one fight left in them hits hard, but shows that loyalty to the end will make a difference. Nala Se will end the program as well and knows this is something she won't get out of, but if she can stop this, she'll have done some good and make amends for some of her actions in the war. Of course Rampart follows however, there will be no Kallus redemption for him. Back at the training facility, there is an almighty fight as the CX troopers and clone troopers square off. Hemlock briefly gains the advantage until Wrecker wakes up MAD!!! He takes out a few of them along with Echo and the other clones finishing them off, and tells Crosshair and Hunter to get Omega. Poor Wrecker looks so beat up at the end of it however, he too suffered a lot here. Rampart seeks to get back in imperial favour by taking the research, but Nala Se has other ideas. She stops all this at a cost to her life, and takes him out in the process. Such a boss ending for her. He was the one who had this research transferred here, and destroyed those cities, so she got revenge on all that. We next see Hemlock and Commander Scorch try to get out with Omega (visually they make this place look a touch like Kamino as well with the rain and structures in the background), but Crosshair and Hunter aren't far behind, stopping them from flying off (a nice callback to them destroying their ship The Marauder and preventing them from leaving Pabu) as they shoot down that dart ship, and take out Scorch. Note with Crosshair's injury, Hunter allows him to steady his aim on his shoulder, and Omega brings out the pin telling him that they both believe in him to make the shot. And injury or not, traumatised or not, Crosshair DOES make the shot and he and then Hunter open fire to bring down Hemlock and put an end to all this! Yes Mel, Omega reaching to Crosshair after the shot, is significant. She know what it took for him to be here and how much he struggled with that, and seeing him handless now showing that this place took another bite out of him; she doesn't hesitate to hug him and comfort him after he helps rid her finally of Hemlock. They get out just as Tarkin is incoming. A bit of significance with Tarkin's arrival visually. Two old Republic Venators surround his ship, a full on Star Destroyer, the first one seen in this series. It won't be long till the fleet has them, TIE Fighters, and the stormtroopers as we know them. The fight is only just beginning... Echo and Emerie back on Pabu discuss what they'll do next. Help the clones out that they rescued and Emerie will go and see Senator Chuchi. I think this is significant, as you are right Mel, this will set back Project Necromancer for decades. Chuchi will probably cause a stink in the senate about Tantiss, the Empire will then cover it up, and Palpatine will try to start it all up again on Exegol, far out of the reach of anyone. We know through Rise Of Skywalker, and Mando, that though they get some results with it, it never quite lives up to what it could have been for the Emperor, had Omega's blood and Tantiss, managed to deliver for him. While Clone Wars and Rebels dealt with Galactic Wars, and this was a more intimate story centring on our crew here; they still set the Emperor back decades, and that is still one heck of a win as it helps prevent him from becoming immortal, alongside Rey taking him out once and for all. Getting most of the kids back to their parents won't be too much of an issue, as they can at least talk about who their parents are and where they come from. Bayrn however is a different story since he's an infant. Hopefully however Emerie can help again as she saw it was Cad Bane who delivered the kid there. IF they can get through to him and give him a significant amount of creds, he'll hopefully tell them where he got him from, to finally reunite him with his mother, who must be going mad at losing him. Horrible, but since this is a happy ending, I think thats what they infer too with that. So, aside from Tech, they all made it, though it cost them all dearly. This was their last fight; they fought hard to keep their family together, but now can begin to have a life outside of soldiering and being on the run. They deserved it. This ending too shows, that we don't need to have a death of someone significant, to have a meaningful ending to the show, and they carried it all off wonderfully. Crosshair in particular surviving is great; he can begin to process, heal and eventually find some peace. To me the symbolism of him losing his hand shows he can stop being a soldier, that the piece of him that was traumatised and mentally scarred is gone. Its still a reminder of his battles and all he went through and did, but it can be the start of something more for him, to move on from all this and find hope again. The fade out as they all sit around the tree, with Batcher as well, is wonderful, especially as the theme ramps up warmingly. Beautiful. We then fast forward what must be at least a dozen years, to see Omega in womanhood making her way off Pabu to fight for the nascent Rebellion (of course she is!!). Hunter looking a bit frail now, who tells her he knows she's ready for the fight, but that he isn't ready to let her go. However he knows she'll be fine and that she'll do her part to bring an end to all this. So moving. As Omega goes on and fires up her ship, there is a link back to first episode ending where she was about to start a new life with the crew as they flew out. We see Tech's spirit lives on through his teachings in Omega and Hera (where he taught her to scramble a ship's signature, and we know how important that is for the missions with the Ghost Crew doing their bit to end all this too). I have a strong feeling we'll see Omega soon in something. :) Yes Mel, Omega's story was done superbly. We saw this indomitable spirit from the off, but with the guidance and training she got from Clone Force 99 (and she does have great genes tbf with being a pure genetic copy of Jango Fett who knew how to handle himself), that she become formidable and a true force to be reckoned with. We see elements of how the squad has rubbed off on her in these final episodes. Here she lets the Zillo out causing carnage and a diversion, something which Echo does; she becomes Hunter to those kids, helping them along the way to get out of Tantiss; she overwrites the droid at the start and pilots at the end, which she learnt from Tech; her ability to cause destruction obviously she got that from Wrecker; and her readiness to execute plans along with her ability to question things, she gets from Crosshair. Added to her own nature, she becomes someone truly special. This is the first time I believe, we have seen kids developed who weren't Jedi (Luke, Anakin, Ahsoka and Ezra), and though they touched on it with Omega that she might have been trained by Ventress going forward, I like this better; she finds out who she wants to become, someone to help people and rid the galaxy of this tyranny. Wonderful. A fantastic end to a fantastic series. Glad you enjoyed it Mel. Thank you for your thoughts and reactions throughout this, it was fun going on this journey with you again! See you next week for Tales Of The Empire!! :)

“This was one of the happiest endings in the franchise.” - she says, a sobbing mess. You know, that isn’t actually the most convincing look you’re giving over there. 😅 There’s a lot that really comes Full Circle in this which can kind of make you appreciate the long game Dave is playing. Omega started out as a sheltered kid, but by this point, she’s not only become an individual, she’s picked up different traits from all of the rest of the clone force. So much that when a disturbance occurs, such as, say, a Zillo Beast breaking out, her brothers immediately recognize “this is her handiwork.” It’s kind of like the flustered dad complex, “what has my kid done THIS time?” To be more specific, her reprogramming the droid is Tech, her movement around the ventilation shaft as recon is a Crosshair trait, her coming up with plans for diversions is Hunter, and well… property damage. Do I need to spell it out to you? Echo leading a force of captured clones is very Rex-like, which would make sense as they’ve been working together away from the main story for some time now. Just like Omega he also picked up cues from his surrounding people. Emerie might. E kind of a metaphor for the entire rise and fall of the Empire - she starts out thinking she’s doing things with good intent, but as she goes on, it gradually becomes clearer to her what the Empire really is until she’s had enough of it - hence she becomes a “rebel.” Nala Se was the last Kaminoan I believe - so when she was killed that is the end of the species. If anyone else is left, they’re too old. But hey she managed to undo a lot of damage. Rampart was always going to be a weasel, though. There’s not too many upstanding individuals in their ranks. Hemlock was doing fine until he got a little too arrogant and thought he was above everyone else. Intelligence is valuable, but when you start thinking higher of yourself than you actually are? This is the Empire we’re talking about after all. You mentioned the rain in the stand-off scene - I kinda think it might’ve been a metaphor for Nala Se getting one last word in. Also we’ve seen Crosshair before taking out targets without even blinking, but notice this time he was a lot more concerned and deliberate because he knew he had to make the shot. The other times he didn’t have any… emotional attachments. Omega’s off to join the Rebels huh? I wonder if she might ever run into say… a certain Princess. Of course, that could be its own spinoff. If I had to file one complaint about this series at all, it’s only that we never managed to run into a certain Pirate… 👀
