Bad Batch 3x10 "Identity Crisis" reaction & review

Google Drive Link posted below description!

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to Bad Batch, season 3 episode 10! Oh dang guys....Emerie is really starting to see the nasty side of the Empire, isn't she??? I gotta say, this one hurt me in my soul! Watching the kids and the baby suffer was just too much! And I think it was too much for Emerie too! Giving Eva the bunny at the end really shows what state of mind she's in right now! Nala Se has basically put the ball in her court....what will she do with it?! Guess we'll find out, but my money's on she'll find a way to help our crew! Great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

This was a rough one! This really is the worst on display. I couldn't agree more, this whole situation is just heartbreaking!!! Eva's voice too! :(((( OMG I know, that poor mom when she wakes up and her baby is gone! That guy ought to choke on his 30 pieces of silver alright! Yeah, you're right, this is not the first time Cad Bane has done this. It's really hard to enjoy the cool ambience when he's doing such heinous stuff. Now I kinda wish Boba had killed him sooner too - think of how many babies would've been spared! Thanks for the info about Scorch; while it's not the same character, it's a nice nod! And yeah, I think some of the Clones really took more to the indoctrination than others. So well said about all that Nala Se has experienced and how it's changed her attitude. It's ironic to think that Emerie herself was like one of these kids too. OMG I was wondering when they said Trandhoshan! LOL I've gotta say, she's got it coming to be made into a snakeskin coat for sure :P I love the scene with the doll!!! Yeah, they really outdid themselves on the evil here!!! Dang! All this so Palpatine can remove even more limits on his limitless power. Same, if ever there's been a rescue attempt that I NEED to go well, it's this one!!!!!!!!

Really?! Wow! That's crazy, I think this show is really good! Yeah you've gotta give it a chance before you just give up on it, for sure! I'm sure once some time has passed people will start showing more love for it!

Melissa Moore

OMG I know!!!!! It was such a hard one to get through!!! Poor babies :(((

Melissa Moore

Yeah, it took her long enough, but she's really starting to see what the Empire is really like!

Melissa Moore

That was icky. It just rips your heart out watching those kids get abused. Those poor babies. 😢

I love the writing in this show and the direction they take. It's a beautiful thing to experience. I just wish most the star wars "fans" could see it. Every Bad Batch vid or edit I see the comments usually have quite a few Bad Batch is mid or the writing isn't great, blah blah blah. I guess people just don't pay attention to the underlying details or even the more obvious ones. Always focused on the big picture they forget that the plot of show isn't the main focus or the only direction the story follows. The music, scenery, Characters, and small details like emotions, actions, decisions, etc, etc. All add soo much to the story and development of the show. Especially characters. I mean without characters and their development. There's not really a reason to watch a show or movie. So really, they are the main focus of any piece of content. Sorry for the rant, just fed up with people calling this show bad or mid. If you pay attention, any show you're interested in will be much better.

PS: You asked about the Ventress voice earlier, I think they used it when Ezra had that Sith stone (I forgot the actual name) that he and Mail were both looking for in Rebels.

If I recall correctly, this was another “Part 1” of a double drop episode. Here’s something that I wish more shows had the stones to do - think about this - there was not one shot of the clones or Omega in this episode. The whole thing was almost literally just following Emerie around, who’s a supporting character. If the characters have enough depth, you don’t need to spend every waking moment on “the main cast.” Now that being said, I do believe that Emerie’s slow burn discovery here is kind of a metaphor for how the Empire revealed its true nature. She starts by just seeking a promotion - but then when she digs deeper she finds out more about what they’re really doing. Clearly the kids are prisoners - but at this point I believe Emerie is still weighing her options logically. In other words - she’s not you, you’d never make it undercover in here lol. You also have to remember anything she does comes with a risk to her personally. “Oh look it’s Cad Bane!” (Happily) Five seconds later… “Oh look.. he’s doing bad stuff to my characters again.” Me: You know, this seems to happen to you a lot… We get more clarification on why Hemlock is so desperate for Omega’s blood - it’s basically the missing piece to the puzzle and the other kids are the pieces he’s already put together. Omega is what he needs to snap the last picture into place - and Tarkin and his “financial concerns” are breathing down his neck. I’ll just say this now… things are going to ramp up from here… 👀

Mel has Andor reactions up on here. :)

I always dread rewatching this episode, its a BRUTAL one to sit through. We see the definition of true evil here; people selling out kids to the Empire, Bane taking the kid from his mother and the coldness to which the "specimens" are referred to by Hemlock and co. I'm not a parent, but find this one a hard watch. Anyone with some semblence of humanity just wants to see those kids being protected, and not in this cold facility with no hope, and who just want to go home. The young voice acting of Eva too really breaks my heart when she looks so defeated as this episode continues. I also keep thinking of how hysterical that poor mother will be when she awakens, to find her baby gone. I hope that git chokes on his 30 pieces of silver for ratting them out. We saw Bane do this in Clone Wars as well; and while we love to see him, the emotionless nature of him partaking in this, makes me want to watch Boba Fett kill him again. If only it could have been done sooner, if these are the jobs he does regularly. Scorch is the clone who stuns Jax here. And again why he and the other clone commandos are fine with this, remains a question. However, even if they think this is for the greater good, and that "good soldiers follow orders" is drilled into them; this is beyond the pale. Scorch is a name from a past game where players followed Delta Force, a troop of clone commandos on their missions in the war; and the amount of threads opened up from fans of that game moaning about him here, beggars belief. Its a nod to that game, nothing more; this Scorch clearly isn't the same as that one, and is fully indoctrinated with the Empire. People also do change, and not always for the better. Emerie's conversation with Nala Se, is enlightening. Emerie is the only other female clone we know of beside Omega; who has accelerated ageing and was seemingly sent to Hemlock during the war, along with Nala Se's blessing. Back then Nala Se wasn't interested in morality about the clones, their purpose and potential as living beings, only as assets. However when Omega came around and was with her on Kamino, she seems to have seen the error of that attitude, especially now her home and civilisation is all but destroyed. Her speech is far slower too, indicating stress and guilt imo of her part in empowering the Empire. Emerie was obviously an experiment too from Nala Se, and she has never had a life outside of laboratories. This is the first time she sees the link between how she was handled as an asset, and these kids; and is beginning to feel that this is just wrong whats happening here. So CX-2 is "activated" again to increase the search for Omega. The Trandoshan he got intel from, is Cid. He probably threw 10 credits at her and she opened the floodgates as always. I hope afterwards he turned her into a snakeskin coat! :P Emerie looking at Omega's file and giving her doll to Eva, shows that even when Omega isn't there, her spirit warms all around her. The themes of this episode are some of the darkest in Star Wars. We know the Empire is evil, heck its stated in the opening credits of the original film! Yet they even outdo themselves here - and for what, so Darth Sidious can live forever... Never have I wanted a rescue attempt to succeed so much as getting those kids the hell out of this place.

& yeah, Emerie in this ep here's finally getting enough conscience, good for her, I guess, better late than never, huh? I think you're gonna love the finale of Bad Batch season - well, finale of it all 😀

Yup, the Empire, as always, is so evil it even hurts babies. Just like with Jedi younglings. Speaking of evils of Empire, pls watch "Andor" someday if you haven't yet, it's an excellent tv series. Even better than first seasons of "Mandalorian" imho. ( I haven't finished Mando s3 yet, not sure if I wanna, so far I've only watched it up to Zeb cameo cuz I had to see Zeb... but first two seasons of Mando seemed better than the third, so far. I will finish watching after a rewatch.) But yeah, try "Andor". It's the first genuinely sometimes scary Star Wars since Empire Strikes back and Revenge of the Sith, but it's GOOD, imho. 😀
