Google Drive Link in description below!

Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to MHA season 7, episode 3!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Are you flippin kidding me?!!?!?! Not my precious boy!!!! You guys, I actually feel so bad for him and his family though! Like I get how everyone's shocked and full of dismay/distrust, but I mean, this sweet pea is in NO WAY a villain! And I have to say, it'd be crazy if we ended up using this to our advantage!!! Also, AFO is driving me crazy with his multiple threads of plans, no wonder he can keep his cool so well! Uggghh!! Dang! What a great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

And I think Ochako with her hair up in this new hairstyle looks amazing. It makes a lot of sense that Toru would discover the spy since even though it wasn’t intentional this was her being the perfect infiltration hero which I have heard fans talk about because of her quirk. I think this reveal of who the traitor was all along was really well done/executed because even if it wasn’t planned from the very beginning or was adjusted along the way you can clearly see all the work & great writing the author put into making this as good as possible. I think it’s great that instead of the characters it would have been obvious but not too obvious to be the spy it was the flashiest character who many people dismissed as being too obvious even with a lot of moments that were evidence for this in hindsight which I will talk about later. I love all the parallels we now have between Izuku & Yuga with both of them having started out quirkless and getting a quirk from someone else it’s just that in this situation they are on opposite sides of the good/evil spectrum. And their powers weren’t compatible with their bodies & they had to work hard to get used to the powers and be as strong as their friends and be equal so to speak. Something interesting is that there is a big difference between them which is while for Yuga it was all about wanting to conform and not as much about being a hero for Izuku it was always about being a hero even if there was a small conformity aspect for him although I love how things for Yuga turned into a desire to be a hero & protect and help his parents. I love what the animators did with Yuga’s facial expressions by doing a great job of adapting how different his expressions here are from almost every other time we have seen him in the show especially how his eyes seem to lose all light & go blank when admitting what he had done to Izuku. I love how we now look at many scenes differently like how in the aftermath of USJ he said that where he was during those events was a secret because he was hiding knowing the villains were coming, how him embarrassing Uraraka in the final exams at the end of season 2 almost costing them the pass almost certainly because he was trying to fail to make it so he couldn’t go to the training camp so he wouldn’t be able to tell AFO where the camp was and then when the class was taking the test to get their hero licenses he tried to fail again but that time in hindsight it was probably out of a desire to separate himself from the rest of the class because he didn’t think he was worthy of being on the same level as his friends. And this is far-fetched because I think the cheese incident was just Yuga trying to connect with Izuku over their powers being hard on their bodies but maybe he thought he had found someone else who had gotten a quirk from AFO.

OHHHHH no kidding about the Invisible Girl fakeout!!! I love seeing them train, and seeing how much progress they've made, too. Yeah they did a good job reiterating just how much we're up against. There are a lot of disadvantages for sure. LOL Bakugo's insults are just gold! I like his new move too! Shoto's work on himself is so impressive, if you've seen the most recent ep then you know even more what I mean! Izuku is still trying to carry that weight a bit which is realistic like you said, but yeah, his friends are there to remind him that he's got backup! Uraraka totally deserves the credit! Her being shy and bashful is adorable, they were totally right to accentuate that hehe!

Something crazy that I learned about Invisible Girl being shown when AFO says he has a lot of friends is that it was the end of a chapter in the manga so people were going crazy thinking she was the spy. It’s really great to see more of the students training because of how it once again reinforces how far they have come since the start of the show & it’s cool to see team up moves/ways characters can work together. It was good to be reminded of what the heroes are up against last episode & it’s good that the characters are thinking of the difficulties the heroes are now facing when planning against the villains like not being able to find them, the heroes being at a disadvantage in terms of strength & numbers and the villains having the initiative. Also the way Bakugo insults AFO is hilarious in a juvenile way it’s the perfect thing for a character like him to say LOL. The way his new cluster move works is really cool. I love what it looks like Shoto is trying to accomplish by making his body able to withstand the raw firepower that Dabi has since it would be impossible to reach his level of strength with what we have seen. I like that Izuku’s I have to do this on my own mindset isn’t entirely gone with his friends having to remind him that they are all in this together because that kind of mindset doesn’t go away easily it feels more realistic that way. I love how much credit Uraraka is getting for what she did at the end of last season because she deserves it. And I think it’s understandable why she’s bashful about it when it was her putting herself out there in a way she never had before & she is just generally humble as well. Also the Japanese phrase for being embarrassed showing up above her & the look on her face is adorable.

Oooh that's interesting! I'm curious to hear another explanation for it. I didn't realize that wasn't officially confirmed about the whole forgetting thing. I can totally see how it may have been built up to a degree but then just set aside in favor of other stuff going on. Thanks so much!!!! I appreciate it!!!

Melissa Moore

I see people in the comments saying Horikoshi forgot about the traitor plot & I have to push back on that. Because that has to my knowledge never been confirmed & I think the reason why people think that is because of things getting confused because of people online saying that he forgot constantly for years. I am fine with people criticizing this plot thinking it wasn’t built up enough even if I disagree.but I really don’t like when an opinion is said online enough that it makes people think it’s true I think some people genuinely believed that without bad intent but I think others just like to think less of creators & underestimate them. In terms of it not being built up enough as a plot point I personally think it was built up enough & then put on the back burner because of all the other crazy stuff going on in the story. Anyway I am glad you enjoyed the episode and keep up the great work. :-) <3

Hey Leonie!!!! ^_^ They really won't give me a break haha! It's too bad about the spoilers but still shocking right! Forgetting plot points reminds me a bit of another mangaka we all know and love :p It happens I guess! It was still a really emotional ep though! I see what you mean though, the buildup wasn't there as much. AFO is terrifying in how calculated he is with his strategies!!! That's so true, it's probably pretty naïve to think they have the upper hand over him! Yikes!!!!

Hey Melissa, My hero doesn't seem to give you a break at all with the emotional episodes. One shock follows the next. Personally, I was also a bit shocked that Ayoyama was the traitor in the UA. But I unfortunately already knew that since I let spoilers get to me for a long time. Since there was a time in my life when I didn't want to continue watching My hero. Because I didn't really like the fifth season. But I have to admit that the way everyone found out that Ayoyama was the traitor was a bit underwhelming. Since I then read that the mangaka had forgotten that he had started this plot several seasons ago and then had to force it back into the plot. And that's how it felt in the episode. It all feels a bit forced in order to move the plot forward and get a chance to outsmart All for One a bit. Nonetheless, I think the episode has become very emotional and I've always really liked Ayoyama's character. It's just that it could have been handled a bit better by putting him in the foreground more often. I mean, it's been several years now since he was in the spotlight in seasons 3 and 4 and hardly got any attention in the last two seasons. I think that's why a lot of people find the reveal a bit underwhelming. I also found it exciting to see how well All for One can think strategically. He really is a great villain because he plans everything carefully and it feels like nothing upsets him. And that makes him very creepy and unpredictable. You think the Heroes have the upper hand now, but he still has a next plan that he can execute to take the lead again himself.
