Hey everyone! Here it is - my reaction to MHA season 7, episode 2!!! OMG :(((((((((( You guys, I've known Star for all of two minutes, but this one hit HARD!!!! All of the build-up between her and the bros was so good! And man, she did NOT waste her opportunity to get close to Shigaraki, holy crap! She took him down from the inside! Even in her last moments she was helping out our crew! I'm gonna miss her!! Speaking of our crew, I was SO proud of our UA babies at the end! AFO really screwed himself by motivating them to step it up so much!!! What a great ep! Enjoy! ~ MH

Aw thanks, I'm glad you liked my insights there! I know, it's sad she died but it was a meaningful death. For real, she really did a lot on her way out! I absolutely love what she represented in Shigaraki's inner world, it was awesome to see! Oh I can see the Hulk comparison!! I know, even if it was only for a second, to see AFO a little flustered was great! And she took out lot of the quirks too. I know, ideally he wouldn't have gotten away but they did get lots of good info. Her final thoughts were so sad and beautiful!!! She ended her life with gratitude and love. You're so right about that being what All Might represents too. The final salute and music just made me proud to be an American lol!!!!! Such a great ending even if it was super sad!

2024-07-11 13:40:08 +0000 UTCI didn’t see the fireworks comparison in this moment that is a great comparison MH & I agree it wouldn’t surprise me if it was intentional. I love what was done for her death even if it was very sad because it’s a brilliant way to make your death mean something on Star’s part. If she was going to go out there are worse ways for it weakening one of the most dangerous villains ever & basically giving AFO the middle finger as she goes out in a blaze of glory. Star becoming a giant, roaring embodiment of justice & rage in Shigaraki’s vestige world of the most badass things I have ever seen. One channel I watch compared it to the strongest versions of the Hulk in the comics and while I have not read the comics I know enough about the character to agree especially with how she is animated & the voice acting. And if’s great to see AFO surprised by a turn of events for once with how angry he is at Cassie. This was an incredibly impactful last stand by her getting rid of many of Shigaraki’s dangerous quirks although I’m sure he did his best to protect his most useful abilities from this assault. It’s unfortunate that he escaped but the fact that it gave the hero side so much information from the Jets. It’s really sad but I feel her final thoughts are so heartwarming with a young Cassie hanging out with All Might just thinking of how grateful she is to him for giving her a wonderful dream of being a hero as she reaches for the sun which represents AM in my opinion. And her final salute with this being her way of showing that gratitude hits really hard especially with the triumphant music.

2024-06-29 21:35:52 +0000 UTCYeah you can tell Shigaraki's not in a good state. I love what she did with the missiles! The explosion was crazy. Yeah the imagery was so intense. I feel awful about what happened to Star but this really did solidify just how smart Shigaraki is. OMG the voice coming out of him is super creepy! I know, she did it for her bros and also as a strategic move, what a boss. That's terrifying about the decay, it really is a good thing she was so smart. The image of her and Izuku was great too! LOL the way they cut off the explosion is a bit comical isn't it!!!

2024-06-25 14:19:19 +0000 UTCI think it’s interesting to see the frustration building in Shigaraki & 1 of the pilots it doesn’t happen for Star I assume showing that she is even more focused than they are. It’s so clever that she grabbed the missiles with her avatar so that they were all touching so that the order on 1 of the missiles would affect all of them to deliver her cruise punch. The explosion of the missiles is insane especially compared to the biggest explosions in our world. The imagery of the horrifically burned Shigaraki is 1 of the most disturbing things in this show especially right when he jumped out of the hole. It sucks that it led to what happened but I think it’s great writing to show off Shigaraki’s intelligence with how he managed to survive the explosion and I like how it was very close to not happening because it’s not like Star was not intelligent it’s just that Shigaraki had the tools to make his survival possible & made the right choices. It’s never not creepy/disturbing to hear AFO’s voice coming out of Shigaraki & their voices mixing and that moment was AFO going into the driver’s seat for sure with the I can use that quirk better thing. It’s interesting that while her sacrifice was because she wanted to protect her brothers it was also strategic because while nothing could have killed him in that situation she instead decides to attack his quirk. I love the image of Star & Izuku side-by-side ready to fight as AFO explains his reasons for his gamble here. It’s really lucky that Star is so intelligence because I think Shigaraki’s 1st use of New Order to do something terrifying like the air can spread my decay. Also his body starting to explode is really funny to me especially because it goes right to the mid card.

Oh yeah, one thing I meant to say in my last comment is that even though it was slightly different I like how Star moved to protect her sister without really having a plan when that villain attacked her family in her origin story somewhat similar to Izuku at the start of the show as well as other characters. The 1st scene of Star & her bros is really wholesome & heartwarming. I love that they immediately reassure her about not being as strong as she wants because of how all quirks have their limits. And it’s great how they immediately dismiss the “because you’re a girl” reason some people have said for why she is limited because they are just good guys & I love that all they want to do is support her and allow her to rely on others. Also I like that we got to see what Star was like when just hanging out with her friends. She is so cute in this scene as well. I was really worried that she was going to die after watching the last episode because of what other people mentioned with how it doesn’t make sense for Shigaraki to lose/die here, her ability potentially being too strong to work in the story but this flashback increased that worry a lot. I still think it’s crazy that Shigaraki is able to think when he is in excruciating pain it just shows his determination. I love how so much of this fight especially this part of it is all about thinking & strategizing around each other’s plans and using the most of their intelligence. Also the music that is her theme was amazing last episode but this version of this music representing how awesome she is & her embers of life burning out bright as a star somehow elevated Star/Cassie’s theme even more & I love how triumphant/patriotic it is. It’s sad but sweet that you can see how much her bros loved & cared about Star especially with the line about how she was always the greatest hero & I really appreciate that even her remains look like stars. Also I love that the phrase greatest hero is very important to this story. I love how many & in different ways All Might has inspired people and I think it’s so interesting how that connects to Shigaraki’s anger to how so much that gets in his way is connected back to All Might. I feel a little bad for the guy who Shigaraki crashes into the room of but not much because he is a murderer but more seriously even trying to imagine the demon that asked that Shigaraki looked like in that moment is horrific. I think it’s amazing that even though it’s a vestige Star is still managing to screw AFO over because of her own quirk cannibalizing itself since once he tried to transfer that power to someone else I think it was technically considered a part of the all for one quirk so in line with Star’s final use of New Order her power destroyed itself. Also the final image of the visage of Star turning skeletal as it fades away is haunting with her ominous last words at least from AFO’s perspective about how someone with the heart of a hero will always fight against him. I love how these words trigger something deep inside the part of Shigaraki that is Tenko & I truly believe he is thinking of/calling out Izuku’s name is at least a part of Shigaraki finally realizing he wants to be saved or at least stopped that’s what I think at least. It’s annoying that the AFO part of him tries to brush her words off when I don’t think he can consider this a win when it’s the 1st thing that has really surprised him in a very long time & almost killed him. I think it’s great that in addition to weakening Shigaraki Star’s sacrifice she gave the heroes more time to prepare as well. It’s impressive to think about how much work the kids have & continue to put in to their training which is even more important now that war is basically on their doorstep. It’s funny, awesome & triumphant feeling to hear All Might basically call AFO stupid for giving the students just one more motivation to fight him with what he just did to Star. And I love the little callback to season one with All Might saying this class is strong here when he said that exact thing at the end of S1 in the aftermath of the attack on USJ. I don’t agree with this because of the impact she has but I think it can be argued that there is some wasted potential when it comes to Star because she wasn’t given enough time to have more buildup & establishment of her character and personality. Although I can agree that it’s sad we never got to see what her interactions & relationship with All Might/Izuku was/could have been like respectively. I think it’s more accurate to say that she wasn’t utilized as a character in the best way. While I don’t think she was wasted as a character but there was a higher potential she could have reached. Also I noticed this a little while before this reaction but I am a little upset at myself for taking a while to notice the Vinland Saga poster on your ceiling and that was a good posted to get it looks great & is such a great moment to have as a poster. It was a bit mistake to not expect MHA to make you cry MH LOL you will learn to be prepared & have tissues one day. Awesome reaction & thoughts and keep up the great work. :-) <3

Oh yeah, good call on the bullets! That's literally what she did. Super intense! And glad you're like the themes more after listening to the full versions!!! OMG same, I'm really anxious but also looking forward to it!!

Obviously she wasn’t going to actually defeat Shigaraki, but I didn’t expect her to die after only knowing her for two episodes. At least she did a lot of damage in destroying some of his Quirks, I wonder which ones he lost. In the end she kinda became one of the bullets Overhaul was making. What an intense way to start the season. Also, I’m liking the OP & ED after listening to the full versions, the OP vocals get kinda intense at times and it’s so good. So excited and nervous about what’s next.
